In other news, I cashed the first non-homegame badugi tournament I played (final table bubbled in fact). Badugi has been the most fun non-holdem game for me, very happy to record a score there

I haven't found badugi to be more frustrating than other poker variants. It certainly can be frustrating, but no more so than Holdem (and don't get me started on Omaha!) Maybe I just haven't experienced everything it has to offer yet

Plus won some tickets which allowed me to take shots at the $22 razz (went terribly) and the $109 main event (went... reasonably, even if I didn't cash. I didn't feel outclassed. Admittedly. this was probably a softer event than your normal $109 tournament, considering how many runners satellited in or won tickets)
All in all, while it's not a huge profit, I happy with the outcome. Even more so considering I failed to cash a single SCOOP/WCOOP event last year
While holdem is on a bit of a backburner post-SCOOP, I managed another strong badugi finish
Unsure if I'm doing something right, if this game is just well suited for me in a field where not many people know what they're doing (there's not a lot of badugi study material around), or if I just keep getting lucky. But I cashed 3 out of 5 non-homegame badugi tournaments I played so far

Thanks Vorpal! Haven't tried pot limit yet, but planning to do it. I expect it makes weak pre-draw badugis significantly stronger, as you can put more pressure on people with medium-strength 3-cards?
Just need to figure out the schedule - gotta know when Stars run the tournaments for non-holdem games!

I'm not the Badugi ninja, but I do stream it most stream days (link in my signature) -- most M, Th and F
With fixed-limit, it is hard not to give people correct odds to draw, but in PL it is easy to charge them a very high price -- especially if your stack can afford it and theirs can't

Badugi results just keep coming. I guess it's easier to make a final table in a badugi tournament just because they always have less than 100 runners
