That was the problem, Vorpal. I indeed put him on a polarized range. Unfortunately Villain was unknown, I was new at that table, so had no infos about Villain yet. Based on "population tendency" (at PLO4 they bet according to hand strength) I somehow figured that he must have gotten there on the turn: somehow. As said, don´t know if Villain is capable to fire a pot-size bluff here, I don´t think he would play a draw like that, a str8 should have raised flop, a set also, I actually put him on a draw. Then this Q comes and he pots out! Somehow this Q helped him? What would be his bluffing range here?

3way pot and bad flop so should we not just check-fold? Only having idiot end straight draw and nut flush blocker. Is hero planning to bet flop and barrel club? With that plan I would see some sense in flop cbet but I wonder if that is just very spewy and optimistic line on PLO4? Our actual equity on hand is very bad.

The guy has a straight and wants to see a safe turn before he puts in 30BBs. He doesnt want to try to check-raise the turn because you may checkback flushdraws.
Pretty simple.

The idea was to protect! The plan was bet flop - and get the pot, don´t give draws a free card, or: If get called, x and fold to any bet.

Dont like the sizing, flop is more static than it may looks like because it is enabling a straight already and low cards are played more infrequently. The board kinda favours the other players ranges, we cant keep up reasonable frequencies with such a big sizing. Some recommend 30-40% pot but I still bet half pot to protect properly against flushdraws and to punish weak players calling-trash. Check the flop might be even better 3way but there is some value in betting against passive fish.

Turn is a no-brainer.

Check flop, Fold turn. You have really bad bad bad bluff catcher on most.

Oh boy. Should stop c-betting on such wet flops.

The problem is not only it's wet.
It's a 3-way, you don't have blockers for the straight BUT you have the main blocker for FD, it means their calling range is full of made hands/SD (or both).
