BAD BEAT OR BAD PLAY?

Neither, really -- or maybe both
56s is an unusual call from the small blind, but you can play it, as it is easy to let go if the flop is unsuitable.
The flop is bottom pair and a weak flush draw, but there is a K which hits the other two players' ranges more than it does yours, I think.

OTT, with both an A and a K out there, it is far too likely that bottom pair will be good, and if either opponent has a flush draw also, yours won't stand up.

I'll move this to the hand discussion forum, so others will have a better chance of seeing it and responding...

I don't see a bad beat here, because a bad beat is that on the moment all money is going in that you win at least 3/4 of the time. It could be a cooler post-flop on the moment you hit the flush draw, but post-flop I don't think you can really fold any more with hitting the flush in the end and it makes not to much sense to raise on 1 point with in mind you get only action of better.

Thank you for replying. You are absolutely right. However, the information I had from this player mislead me. Plus, with Kh on the board, the combination of flushes he could have were much smaller. Also, with Ah on the river, I was more that certain he would have a flush, as I don't think we would keep betting with either QH Jh, QhTh or JhTh, which were the combination that made the most sense. On the other hand, as it was a BTN raise, I really didn't want to believe he could have AKs, so I put him on a weak K or even QQ or JJ...maybe in the rare occasion AA. But he got lucky I guess with the Ah which completed both our hands. My top problem is, how to get away from this spots, when you already have committed most of your stack...?
