MP1 is a multi-tabling regular who seems solid and straight forward from what I have seen so far.

PokerStars, $3.16 + $0.34 - Hold'em No Limit - 40/80 (10 ante) - 8 players
Replay this hand on Upswing Poker

UTG (Hero): 2,646 (33 bb)
UTG+1: 1,497 (19 bb)
MP: 1,428 (18 bb)
MP+1: 2,264 (28 bb)
CO: 2,025 (25 bb)
BU: 1,597 (20 bb)
SB: 582 (7 bb)
BB: 1,461 (18 bb)

Pre-Flop: (200) Hero is UTG with J J
Hero raises to 200, 2 players fold, MP+1 calls 200, 4 players fold

Flop: (600) 3 7 Q (2 players)
Hero bets 296, MP+1 calls 296

I think we could size our c-bet a bit smaller, as the board is pretty dry and we don't need to protect against many hands. 1/3 PS is probably better than 1/2 PS.

Turn: (1,192) 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP+1 bets 560, Hero calls 560
Meh... I was thinking about betting again, but on the other hand I figured that JJ would be a decent hand to c/c. I am really lost in this spot and would like to hear your opinions. I am often giving up in this spot and am not sure if this is bad.

River: (2,312) Q (2 players)
Hero checks, MP+1 bets 1,198 (all-in), Hero calls 1,198
I don't think we should call this... :f_tongue: Wasn't playing my A-Game and felt that there are some busted FD's, maybe some weird 88-TT kinda hands, the river Q makes the Qx hands a bit more unlikely and I called because we get decent pot-odds.

I really don't like my line but I am not sure which line is best, especially on the turn. Thanks for your help!

If he's a TAG reg a check/fold on turn isn't to bad or you have reads he could semi bluff sometimes.
Another option is bet/fold turn for thin value and protection.

I´d be cbeting small both F and T and check/reavaluate rvr

Given that it´s 25bb deep and he is not supposed to be set mining, perhaps x/calling line might be the best, but idk really

I like betting too on the turn. He can has Fd's or some worst pairs 99-TT that might be inclined to call another bet.

Would definitely go for a check on the flop, as played we probably want to x/f turn, river is also pretty nasty even when the board pair we might want to x/f.

I appreciate the input guys! :f_love:

In hindsight I like c-betting smaller. I would also agree that bet/folding is better than check/calling.

One last question: Let's assume we bet 200 OTF and have a pot size of 1000 on the turn. How much would you bet?

sometimes bet, sometimes check otf

dont play the hand, play your ranges... especially vs a thinking player

why do you bet so big? what are you trying to accomplish with it?
