The script does exactly what was recommended in this post

The del command is delete
The path specifies the folder, and the *.* on the end means all files.
/f means forc
/q means quiet.

This is safe at the moment, unless Pokerstars changes something.
Your mileage may vary -- use with caution.

Users should also note that table window class changes with the new software.
This affects table positioning software, but so far I've not noticed any other consequences.

The reason you need to do this every time is that PokerStars immediately backfills the folder.

Full Tilt isn't running Aurora. I actually forgot about FT as it has been so long since I logged on.

Not sure if I just don't know how to use that script, but tables and especially cards look so horrible that I just can't play with forced Aurora.

Who is the mastermind who thought it's an upgrade and forced it?

I just tired to use the script as described above -- it did not work.

I don't know why I didn't notice this before the it is possible that when pasting the script PokerStrategy.com's link processor munged the command.
Disclaimer: Be extremely careful to ensure that you have a full back of your system before following these instructions -- or any others you find on the internet.
The command should be:
del %localappdata%\pokerstars\ImgCache\*.* /f /q
or
del %localappdata%\pokerstars.eu\ImgCache\*.* /f /q
If you put that line exactly as written into aurora.bat it will work when double-clicked.
Note that you must use only a plain-text editor only, not a word processor.
For most Windows users, this will be notepad

To find out which command to use, copy
%localappdata%\pokerstars.eu\ImgCache
into the address bar of file explorer
If it finds nothing, drop the .eu

Today, I experienced my first glitch with the new engine, when one of my tables didn't display any cards in an 8-Game tournament. First, I just thought that the table was still loading and was surprised when I was asked to make a decision. After folding my invisible hand, I expected things to be back in the next hand, but it stayed that way. None of the other two games I had open were affected.

It was back immediately after closing my table and re-opening it again, and it only caused me to miss two hands, so I didn't report it nor take any screenshots, but I will look out for it in the future. If this happens more often, I should alert support about this, even though I expect them to be drowning in Aurora-related messages right now - many reasonable, some other ones - and so I would probably only received a canned response anyway.

Hello @ Kyyberi I don't like Aurora but this theme looks good and the cards are visible

Remember back when PokerStars was one of the ugliest and the most used site because of it's Pros, Rakeback, game variety, player pool? How about when they upgraded their graphics and didn't fuck up the player experience? And how about when they won the world record of the biggest poker tournament?

Well... you gotta love the game variety they left us with!

Any idea why this message pops up? In the beginning of my session, I could join waiting lists than this happened. Furthermore, (as I know) PokerStars updates automatically.

Although it does update automatically, if it is open, it won't update.
It only retrieves and installs updates when it opens.

I am guessing that some tables, and games (for example Grand Tour) require Aurora to work at all.

I haven't encountered any yet.
What waiting list were you trying to join?

NL5 cash game. Never ever thought of playing step SNGs

This was my 3rd session where waiting lists worked, than I got this error. Are they updating this often? I mean, of course they should, because the new engine is full of bugs and errors. Latest one:

I really wish I had been included in their beta test.
I cannot imagine any competent player (with decent volume) who was in the beta program that would not have raised serious objections

I can't imagine how can they release a new engine like this.

My notebook is 8 years old, but it can handle PT4 and PokerStars at the same time. However I used the old engine, because I can't see my notes on Aurora.

(yeah, I flopped quads against a guy, who constantly played back at me. He went pot pot, I checked to him OTR, but unfortunately he checked back this time with TT. Thats's why you should not limp )

If you click the arrow on the grey bar on the lower-left of your screen you may see notes.
There is a problem though if your notes on any one player are more than 4 lines long
Here is what the table looks like under the old system:

It is exactly the same (for me anyway) under Aurora, but Aurora has the throwable tool.
Note the little arrow in the red circle.
If you click it, all the 5 "chat" windows pop out, and look like so:

This is critical for someone like me that is playing 4 different tables, often playing 4 different games -- or even more if you count 8-game and HORSE

Some of my notes fill the entire space.

I would not mind Aurora at all if I could still do this.

Also, I think that a lot of people that are suffering from the Aurora engines may have other things that are slowing their computers down, and Aurora just makes things that much worse.

This that I tell you now is a personal, unofficial information, I have read about users of stars blocked because they excluded Aurora. I would avoid doing it.
