Interesting because ps support try help me turn off aurora so very weird...also strange why do you wrote just now if you know this information or you work the pokerstars too?! So now i afraid here too?
But i can't turn off now. Freeze my client lot of times, very slow i can't see my notes and old notes disappear. And i still don't understand why good if lot of people will blinding or our eyes and vision is very weakened.

I also have disagreement with Aurora I don't like it it's heavy and I also lost information I told you what you read someone has had a closed account for bypassing Aurora this is what I know and I am referring to you as a friend

Fine but i don't care anymore i use aurora now. They wrote me I should have to buy a new computer. And maybe i can win fistfull of cent. Here new pc about 560 euros. And i play lot ps client destory my new pc too because aurora use lot of memory. And destory my eyes too.

That's really nasty for him that his account is closed because of this.
Seems like a weird reason. Hopefully they will open it for him again.

I still can't understand why they don't interested the fact how harmful to the eyes the new graphic system.

Perhaps if you change the theme.
I am using the "Mercury" Theme with a dark green felt and black background.
It looks the same in both versions of graphics

Aurora is really annoying. My HUD is flickering for a short moment each hand just before its my turn. Usually not a big issue, but if you see this several thousand times a day, your eyes say "thank you..."

Today I sent this to PokerStars support:

Question 1:
Custom themes are available online -- see https://pokertablethemes.eu/stars/ for example.
I can find nothing in the Terms of Service that would indicate that using custom themes is a violation.

Can you please confirm that using custom themes is OK?

PokerStars has become horrible since the forced installment of Aurora.
Many players report extremely poor performance. This is not a problem for me, however the pop-out chat window has disappeared, and this is a necessity for the way I play.

Assuming they reply, I'll report their answer.
In the meantime -- I have re-started PokerStars and confirmed that (at least for me) the technique described previously to disable Aurora still works.
Note that one step in the technique is to disable writing to the imgcache folder -- I do not do that, but clear it manually each time.

Yesterday was really bad for auto-sit out. It also
occasionally auto-folds hands while in play. I have no idea if the problem is at my end or a fault with the software.

The felt colours are too bright. You need sunglasses for some colours. The backgrounds for the Mercury theme are mainly black. No wood effect or any other colour. Why not make all backgrounds universal on the client?

The western theme is great but only suitable for one-tabling. I get it, casual players will like it. The Carbon theme is ridiculous taking the minimalist approach all too literally. Yes, a basic theme is much required and needed but that does not mean making the players almost invisible to each other.

Still, Aurora could be worse, like 888poker's train wreck.

Yes, i use similar or same themes VorpalF2F, only my front deck 4 colour because i guess i easier see 4 colours cards. But sometimes very slow the client and very annoying when i time out because of the aurora.

Yes I use 4-colour deck also.
Fortunately, I have never noticed any delays -- even when using Aurora

I understand, probaly your pc newer 2018 or later. If i buy Hm3 and use aurora in ps i guess the best pc i have to buy, lot of memory and super good CPU than perhaps run well...but my main problem will stay have, what can i do hurt my eyes?

Yeah, there are two clues...
 1: The top one has no chat window at all -- by default my chat window is "popped out" in the old engine
 2: The bottom one has the throwable button

Other than that though, there isn't a lot of difference.
I would be interested in trying some of the problematic themes.

Remember everyone -- keep complaining to PokerStars every chance you get.

I presume some people actually like Aurora -- but I have no idea why, since it provides no benefit to the player.

I don't think they would be too many who like aurora. Also i guess lot of pokerstars user have got old computer and if they play just 2 tables maybe slower the play for them.

Hello , i had the same issues as all of you guys.

I had terrible lag because of this aurora theme , i tried everything including deleting the folder Imgcache . Nothing help.

The thing that helped me was this

Uninstall ( BUT! not regular uninstall from add/remove programs) . I mean uninstall the whole damn pokerstars from your PC including all hidden files in register.
I made it via program which i download ( if you want i can share it with you but i dont want to be as advertise)

SO..if you can delete all pokerstars files from your computer without a program - do it .

I didnt know how , so i saw in internet that it can be done with program and that was the method i used.

So after total uninstall , i installed it again and i am with aurora now but for sure there is no lag and pokerstars run as good as the old version .

I hope that this will help you I have some really bad days with this lag .

Share your thoughts if you try this method.

I have used a program called revo uninstaller that does a similar job.
These programs can be tricky though, and there may be unexpected side effects.
It is OK to mention the name of the program you used, just don't link to it.

Warning:
Be sure you have a current backup of your system before using any software mentioned or recommended by anyone

In addition to the full backup, be sure to save the file:
%localappdata%\PokerStars\notes.VorpalF2F.xml
somewhere handy. When finished re-installing put that file back in the same folder.
It is the file that contains your notes.

This aurora engine is really annoying especially the note system, i simple cant use my notes anymore because i can't read them the letters are too small and my eyes are bleeding for god sake. I'm keeping my notes now on my hud database, because pokerstars note system now is useless.

The second thing that was really annoying was the supeeeeerrr tiny letters that pokerstars choose, the stack size, names, pot size everything was too small. To adress this issue i installed starscaption, this program allows you to change basically all the fonts on the client so you can keep the letters the size you want i highly recommend to anyone.

This aurora thing was made to destroy regulars, this client benefits the recreational players a lot by making reg life harder.

I wouldn't recommended what embraer650 wrote because i know the final result same you can't fool the ps if sometimes will update only play aurora. And if you unistall and delete all files your every settings maybe forever disappear. So you have to set again. Yes i know what i have to save and i saved and copied it but my settings were nowhere when i reinstalled about 2 weeks ago. So my advice try dark colour and simple themes mercury set up what VorpalF2F wrote eariler.
