Heads Up Here I Come

I decided to play some 5NL, im thinking about tryout out the tankroll bankroll challenge, i was much calmer at 6max then HU, i think like vorpal said earlier its probably a wise move, maybe i should take it easy and play HU for 10 mins a session, until i get used to the format.

Anyways heres some hands from the session that i thought were worth showing.

It looks like im starting to fold vs 3/4 to pot bets more often, some improvement

i bet about 12c into this pot and the guy folded a flopped straight haha, made me giggle

I folded this hand, a nice finnish, i was patient and really into the game, i really enjoyed this session.

Yeah, it is especially difficult when the opponent overbets some times, and just min-bets other times, with similar holdings and board textures.

After a short discussion, playing vs 3/4 pot and over bets, ive started to standard fold, even in smaller pots of 20-30c, unless its on the river against the obvious missed draw, i belive you cant go far wrong here.

i was playing some 6 max last night, an this hand happened, personally i think it was a mistake, (not because i lost it because i called on a reverse implied draw) anyways heres the hand. It would'nt let me see the hand replayer for some reason, anyways.

villain (100bb) raises 3bb from CO, hero (200bb) calls from bb BB with A♠:T♥:

Flop 6♠:T♠:3♠: i bet 37% villain reraies, i call

Turn J♠: i make a pretty big bet leaving villain with about $2.40c

River:6c: Now im thinking, he reraised the flop, he could have a flush or a set, i shoved, i figured hes going to check back most flush's and only bet full house's here.

I was playing last night for a little while, i used 1 of my $2.20 free tournament tokens, im likeing the tournaments on party poker, they seem to be short and not that many people play them with gives you better value for your money and, your not stuck in a touarnament for 6 hours, they can be finnished in about 1h30mins or so, i made a bad move on the bubble i at 14 player it paid 12, and busted out, it was still fun, i think i have 1 $11 free ticket left and 1 $2.20.

I decided to go back to HU after a few days of getting my game back together, i said to myself im going to try my best to keep cool and not lose my head, i lost a few big pots bluffing vs a flop reraise to start with about 50-100bb, i calmed down and decided not to do that again haha. The first guy i played seemed to be a decent player, he put me in some tough spots, after about 3 hours i finnaly won my money back and knocked him out, i had about $5.74, then shortly after another guy joined, he lasted 10 mins. i decided to quit after the 4 hour session, i felt like i was getting board.

Heres the final result on NL2.

When i was playing this hand here with my pocket 77, i usually go into check call mode here, i thought about a differnt line, of donk the flop 2/3s, it was the turn that confused me, i wasnt sure what to do here, i figured i was going to bet, check call on a none spade river, what do you guys think?

I decided to play fastforward last night after my 6 hour session, i couldnt sleep and had poker running through my mind, i ended up losing 100bb, i jumped into the game and played hyper aggressive, it put me down to about $15, i decided im too tired to play, and got some sleep

I played today, variance was certainly on my side heres some hands i screen shotted.

I checked the river and he called, as if im ever calling with a 6 here

Not much to say here we got it all in on the flop.

Climbing back up the ranks

Let me start by saying happy new years everybody, i hope everyone had a great day in these differcult times.

Anyways im starving, one of my goals this year is to start trying to eat a little bit healthier here's some pictures of some concoctions i've made (I like to get creative in the kitchen at times) heres the before and after, my girlfriend doesnt like carrots, who doesnt like carrots, she must be nuts haha.

I decided to hit up the HU tables, the last few days with some great success, I've decided, to stop posting the boring day to day poker hands (unless there absolutley completley funny and worth it haha) and describe my session like a short story.

After playing some 6max for a few days and rebuilding my bankrolI, i decided i was ready to get back to the HU tables after taking a break from them, to reduce my tilt levels, i was playing NL2 HU and NL5 6 max, i started of playing a few session of 10-20 mins HU on NL2, and seemed to be much calmer again, and chilled out while playing (sometimes we just need a break haha) as you do i loaded up my pokersite and click HU it happened to be a NL10 game, the guy was sitting with about 250bb, i though i should leave, then paused for a second and said to myself "im really playing well at the moment, im calm making giid decisions and have $20 :f_drink:) so i played i expected him to be pretty good since he was waiting for people to join his table, i destroyed him and took 100bb off him in 10-15 mins, it tilt quitted haha (I Know this feeling for sure) i then played 2x NL5 HU 1 table was a stalemate, while the other, made some very poor plays, i took 210bbs from him then sat out, he was furious, i giggled when i seen the words "Play donk, and play faster" i thought ok so sombodys tilted lets get him while we, he quit about 4 or 5 hands after i clicked play again.

Today has been one of them boring sessions, I have been playing pretty well the last few day's and making some good decisions, i thought i'd try and take a stab at NL10, with $52 bankroll, i felt really uncomfortable, i bluffed in some silly spots. i wasnt even thinking poker, all i could think about was not losing 10 bucks haha, i lost about $3-$5 then quit, i played a tournament for $2.20 and a 55c one, i got knocked out immediately, i chilled out for a bit went to make some food with my girlfriend had a few lemonades and gin (im the drunken player haha) seriously i cant remember the last time i played poker sober. After a very tasty steak salad i came back to the tables feeling tipsy, i returned to play, NL5 this time, i played some HU i left the table +150bbs, i played some normal and fast fold games for a little while and won a little more there, nothing special tonight, it was a pretty boring poker day today, not much action at all (we cant always run amazing right!) i might watch a film or maybe read some more of TMGOP2, good night folks.

Hello, me and my girlfriend cooked a lovely dinner today, we roasted potatoes, chicken, mushrooms and oniions seasoned with a little thyme, salt and pepper, mmmm it was delicious.

I was going to take a break from poker today, and chill out and do something else, i guess i just got bored and hit the tables, i found a very good game after playing for a little, one of them tables you just do not want to leave, i was fuming when the site kicked me out, i was up about about 8 dollars, then i made some stupid move when i logged back in after dinner, i think i was slightly tilted by the fact it just threw me out from a very good table, i decided to shove my pocket TT's vs a tight passive players flop rearise, i thought id decide to take a break and come and put my thoughts on here, on the + side im still up 2 dollars haha.

I guess thats the importance of table selection, a lot of the time were playing against ourselves, players who strive to win and better there game, when the donators come along and give you a few stacks or even a few big pots its great poker feels easy, when i just donated a full stack to that tight passive reg vs his fllop reraise i really thought id got a grip on that mistake, i guess not.

I was feeling very down and in a low mood, these times were in are affecting us all, I've never had money troubles before, I've always been comfortable, where that is concerned, these last few months have been tough, we've been scrimping and scraping, we have about £7 to our names and no income whatsoever, all I want to do is drown myself in vodka, maybe I'm still grieving, I've been like this for months now, since losing my father, I'm starting to forget what being sober is like.

Ok, so after my statement above about feeling really down, i hit the tables again about an hour after blogging, i couldnt sleep i played some of the worst poker in my life i destroyed my bankroll by half in depressed tilt mode, the funny thing is i feel happy now, i have no idea why because before i would be fuming for days about this loss, and im planing on going to win it back now haha :f_drink:.

At least you recognize that when you lack sleep, you cannot make the best poker decisions.
Often when you can't sleep there is just too much running around in your head.
Those things aren't going to go away just because you open a few poker tables -- they will be distractions.

I think they are very wise words, your absolutely right, especially about the sleep and how opening tables when your tired and wired. This is a recipe for disaster, i think i had hit burnout, I've been grinding quite a lot the last week.

I slept most of the day and night, i was pretty tired, with this lockdown my sleeping pattern is a bit all over the shop, we have gone into full lockdown where were are now, i woke up at about 3AM played a few games on my phone and decided to open poker, there was only 1 6max table at NL5 real name games, i decided to join since it was the only table available.

There were 2 players, one of them reminded myself of the other night, (sort of i didn't shove every hand like he was) i played a few hands and quickly doubled up to $10, with AQ vs a trebble barrel bluff from him with absolutely nothing, i thought, this is going to be fun, a few more hands passed, and i picked up AK, i raise he shoves with a 97, i lost, i immediately felt very frustrated, i took a few deep breaths and remained calm and waited patiently, i ended up leaving the table with $15, the other guy left after he busted out and the table broke up.

I found another table to play at with a loose passive player on my right, i thought this is a good table, however, he was hitting and i just kept missing everything, I lost about $5 i was hitting hands like 2 pair and the board ran out a 4card straight, but hey, you cant always have it good can you. I decided to play a 55c tournament after that i busted out at 33, i think thats me done for the night.

Hello all, i played some poker 2 days ago, things didn't go my way again, everything i seem to bet or hit, the other player had something better or called me down, it put me down from $39 to $35, i decided after about an hour id call it a night, i still felt slightly tilted from the other night after busting half of my bankroll.

Last nights session was a pretty good one, i was playing 2 tables, i decided to leave one table i had about $8 on one and $7 on the other, i left the $7 dollar table, and decided to just play the one. I noticed that the table was so tight, it was a raise call fold flop table, i usually play tight, to start with, since nobody was playing, i decided to open almost 80% of hands from almost anywhere, i was having success and change a boring game into a fun one. There was one player at the table i was sat with about $13, he was sat with $11, ever pot i ended up in with him he kept beating me, i felt a little bit frustrated, i took a breather and decided to void him for a little bit, i then thought, ok lets try a different strategy, i noticed i was playing to same game the rest of the table was and calling him preflop and bluffing or check folding, i decided to start 3betting him, he didnt put up a fight at all, he check folded and folded to my 3bets and 3bet flop cbets. All in all i played really well making some good folds, heres some hands and my thought proccess.

I decided to play a 55c tournament i like the 6max hyper format they have on party poker, your not playing them for hours and hours, and you have enough chips to play around with until the very later stages where mainly push or fold, heres some hands im not going to go into them, i just play them for fun, when u get bored of cash games, i come 5th out of 50, and wont about $1.77 wahoo/

so i was playing 2 tables 1 HU against a very loose player, and a 6ax vs a very loose player, the HU went good to start with, i was up a few dollars, i decided to quit after this happened in the 6max game. i hit a set, i check raise the flop he calls i bet the turn and check shove the river, he caught a set i put him on an over pair, he was a beginner, sometimes luck strikes us,

i was sat at $64 until this happened

Hello all, i haven't blogged for a few days, ive been playing on and off, since the other day, with my opening post "Disgusting" opened a new idea for me, everytime i seem to tilt i seem to curse the game, and the other players (i've added this to my tilt profil) recently i have been making plays i know are bad and losing yet i still call, im not sure whether its the drinking, or the pain from the loss of my father, i lost about 1000 bbs through, making bad decisions, (the funny thing is i know im making them). I guess its good hat im still winning even though im tilting all the time, maybe i need a break who knows.

Anyways i hope all is ok, and heres my bank roll and a few strand and wonderful hands ive played.

I have no idea how i have managed to win a few dollars haha.

Hey FrozenElf, I remember reading your blog a few years back when you were climbing the limits and crushing it! Keep it up, your bankroll is building up even if you're tilted sometimes.

For me, I tilted more when I played more variance games like zoom and went on longer downswings. I've stopped playing zoom since. Now, I like full rings which are more boring but are generally quite safe for building a bankroll. If you tilt more while playing heads up, maybe try staying at 6max or even explore another format. GL!

Helllo all, I decided to play some more poker, after my last blog a few hours ago, i felt confident that i was going to play well, i have been avoiding HU for a while because i have been tilting a little bit recently, i like HU so i thought ill play NL2, it went ok, until the last 2 hands i ran KK into AA and hit 2 pair in a 3bet pot vs a flush, ah well, thats poker!

Hey all,

ive had a great night tonight, i started of playing poker cooking and drinking alcohol, talk about multi tasking haha. My girlfriend wasn't feeling the best tonight, we woke up late as usual with the lockdown going on an all, I went back into the bedroom a few times to check she was ok (we live in a downstairs flat) the last time i whispered "Caitlyn are you ok babe" she replied "Im hungry" i giggled to myself, and said "Would you like a sandwich and cup of tea?" she replied "Yes please" id prepped dinner while she was sleeping, (She has been taking care of me, through my grieving) i was feeling happy today and wanted to do something nice for a change. So im playing poker drinking alcohol and cooked all at the sane time (dinner was very nice mmmmmmm) anyways enough chit chat, I loaded up a game played while i was cooking and drinking (i always play drunk sue me haha) i entered the tables with an attack mode, this didnt go down very well, i lost $30 before i even blinked.

I decided to take a shot at NL 50, i felt confident in myself, however this was my full bankroll, appart from about $5, as soon as i joined the table i felt a rush through me like a lightning struck a tree, saying to myself "I can not lose here, or i'm a goner" i put all my energy into playing the best i possibly could, I played for about a little while here are the results.

Haha, that made me giggle yep, that's just the replayed, I like to sit at the bottom, I took a risk last night and it paid off, I've been thinking about trying out the bankroll bankroll again up to 2k, I felt like trying to skip NL5, it paid off NL10 here I come wahoo

I've been tilting recently, so 8ve been avoiding HU it's amazing how you can win/lose 6 or 7 buying, in a very short time, I've decided to only play NL2 HU for a little while
