I've not used the PokerStars cashout feature before -- I've only ever had a couple of opportunities, and in those I was the overwhelming favourite.

Here I decide to cash out since I'm offered more than I put in, and was guessing that I was up against a decent-sized pair.
Is this the correct time and place for using Cashout?

PokerStars - $0.25 Ante $0.03 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: $25.00
Hero (SB): $44.34
BB: $7.94
UTG: $80.04
MP: $25.00
CO: $24.87

6 players post ante of $0.03, Hero posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.25

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.53) Hero has K♣:A♥:

fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to $0.62, Hero raises to $2.00, BB raises to $7.91 and is all-in, fold, Hero calls $5.91

Flop: ($16.62, 2 players) J♠:Q♦:J♣:

Turn: ($16.62, 2 players) 3♠:

River: ($16.62, 2 players) 2♦:

Hero cashed out $10.28 for a fee of $0.10

Hero shows K♣:A♥: (One Pair, Jacks)
(Pre 65%, Flop 1%, Turn 0%)
BB shows J♥:Q♣: (Full House, Jacks full of Queens)
(Pre 35%, Flop 99%, Turn 100%)
BB wins $15.87
Rake paid $0.75

I'd say considering villain's stack size this is not a good spot. Villain could have a lot of weaker aces e.g. and you are probably a huge favorite vs villain's range.

Consider that the cash out fee of 1% from 66 bb pot is 0.66 bb. If you always do this, it effects your win rate per 100 hands by -66 bb/100. That is the price for reduces variance. (Please correct me if I did the math wrong)

Yeah, my thoughts were that it was likely mathematically OK to let it play out, however my overall range advantage I thought was going to be much less -- more of a flip.

       Equity     Win     Tie
SB     64.78%  60.81%   3.97% { AKo }
BB     35.22%  31.25%   3.97% { 88+, A2s+, A2o+, QJo }

Well better than a flip, but I went with my gut, and this time it was on target.[1]

He is short in a cg. Just get the money in. Especially with wide late posi ranges.

There is never a correct spot to use that option - it only serves to steal from your winrate.
