Jesus :(. I am trying to go for more value on rivers and this happens.

Can we call, should we just check behind?

Was so close to calling because how can he expect me to bet on the river, unless he holds JQ nothing else makes much sense.
Would busted flush draw make this move?
Can he have some middle pocket pair trying to make me move off my Ace?

EDIT:
Reading my questions I feel like I may be leveling myself. Realistically can NL10 be this meta in poker or can I just be ok with it given this is a river play and he should have me beat?

Seems well played. River Cbet is really thin I think. I would only Cbet the river if villain is really passive.

I'd x back turn. have the K covered and can call most rivers. Can even check flop.
As played most draws brick. I'd x back, it's thin.
Put yourself in his shoes with a hand like, A2s. Calling a triple barrel is hard even with TP .

thin value river => 1/3-1/2, the less he passive defends the sb, the more u check back. I bet river vs 80% of the pool in higher stakes.
as played b/f, it might be AJs, AJo, JTs or overplayed QJ / KQ

my preferred line is BBX because Turn brings second flush draw and it's good to go for value on the Turn.

River: he could have plenty of KJ QJ type of hands and realistically speaking, people aren't flatting A2-A9o in SB vs BTN. This means that you are primarily targeting A2s-A9s which are not paying you off all the time. You are losing to AT and AJ which he could easily have.

Very clear check
