Im gold and wondering how many MCP points are needed to make platinum?

IF 1$ = 1 MCP = 4 SP then, Platinum = 3000 SP /4 = 750 MCP.

more like 3000 * 4 = 12000 imo

just check your database: it's not so hard to calculate rake * 4

or you can use this to help you find correlation between MCP a rake/PS points (only if you use PT3): MCP counter

Anyways, you can't tell it's 4 MCP/1 PS because it depends on limit you play (e.g. I have around 5.2 MCP/PS)..
