On the bubble to the 4th tier above mincash, I limped UTG fully expecting a jam from a shorter stack which I would gladly call.
As it turns out though, this is a $300 freeroll, and isn't part of the usual 888 freeroll daily routine.
This one is much much slower, and is generally populated by thinking players.

I *never* expected A-high could ever take a pot multi-way

It looks like standard open.
Open raise has almost always better EV than limp. You can check here.

Just checked -- it isn't the first time I won a freeroll -- not surprisingly I don't remember the other one
NARF
The other one was in August of last year, and was for 42.00
It was the same tournament as this one only that time there were only 243 runners.
I even posted about it https://forums.pokerstrategy.com/forum/thread.php?postid=3171089#post3171089

But this one puts me over $500, so that is super sweet.
Let's see, that's 10 BI at NL 50 -- think I should take a shot?

I followed that link, and not surprisingly I already had an account there -- I just hadn't played NLHE tournaments for so long I just hadn't used it.

This is what it showed:
https://www.icmpoker.com/icmizer/#StvzJV

Pretty marginal for a shove.
However, considering what the other players held, and what their behaviour was the previous few times I had shoved it may have been worthwhile.
I only posted the hand because it is in very sharp contrast to the usual 888 freeroll behaviour, where if one player shoves, several others shove also.

I really appreciate that you reminded me of this site.

All the best,
VS

Freeroll Frenzy

Played 6 of 'em yesterday, cashed 5.
Nothing special though.

888 is on hold for a few days while I concentrate on MicroMillions...

Thanks RedsYNWA -- I just meant that nothing more than min-cashes

To cash these freerolls on 888 you just need to double up once early on, then just wait for the opportunity to pounce.
People open-shove the strangest things, so the trick is to not get tricked into doing the same.
Bide your time.

A lot of these are "desperation equity" too.
I seem to frequently win with one or two big blinds left near the bubble, which carries me into the money, then I get a really good hand and it loses.

Still Growing!

I've played very little on 888 since my last post -- just a few freerolls and some PLO8 5
A few decent cashes, and two profitable PLO8 cash sessions, so BR is now at $512.76

Well That Didn't Last Long!

I took a 1-BI loss at PLO8 10 and a 6-BI loss at PLO5

Later in the day gained back over 1 BI at PLO8 5, and clawed a bit back in Freerolls...
Current BR -- 484.83

And it continues to get worse...

In spite of a few good hands, I got devastated again today

I kept getting da nuts (which got counterfeited) and with decent re-draws (which got outdrawn)
Looking at this graph, it appears I was in 33% of hands, but clearly that's too many.

Not all bad though...

I played for the first time in 10 days on 888 and came away with 8 cents out of 3 tournaments.
There's one left to play, but it isn't one I normally play so not expecting much

OK Day

Small freeroll cash, and small PLO8 5 win

BR currently 458.61
We're going to start adding some MTTs to our playlist.
We'll look for one every M, Th & F to play on stream.

On stream today, I mentioned that I cash about 3 out of every 5 freerolls.
It turns out that this is not correct -- it is only 24.23%

Here is the freeroll results since I started the challenge:

Thanks!
We played in a $5000 freeroll today, and collected another 4 bucks for nothing. ROI is infinite.
Cashed in another for 10 cents or so as well.

Of all the rooms I've ever played in, 888 has the best line-up of freerolls.
Well, maybe PokerStars -- in the early days, every hour or so was a different freeroll for a particular game -- stud, 5-card draw, 2-7 triple draw, badugi and so on.
Those freerolls are pretty much what got me started on the "non-hold'em" games.

That's where my love of the game began with freerolls on Full Tilt poker years ago they had their own running every hour and then you had forums running private freerolls. Full Tilt also ran a daily freeroll that you could buy in for 500k play money chips which i always thought was a great idea for a freeroll.
