Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has K♠ A♥

Hero raises to 4 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to 7 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 3 BB

Flop: (15.5 BB, 2 players) 3♠ 9♠ 2♣
Hero checks, BTN bets 7.5 BB, Hero calls 7.5 BB

Turn: (30.5 BB, 2 players) J♣
Hero checks, BTN checks - I was happy he check here and check all the way to river but totally not sure what I will do if he bets. Only have 28 hands on him, but he looked happy to call a lot. What is the plan if he turn or river. Or maybe am I missing value here not betting.

River: (30.5 BB, 2 players) 9♦
Hero checks, BTN checks

Hero shows K♠ A♥ (One Pair, Nines)
(Pre 75%, Flop 87%, Turn 93%)
BTN mucks Q♥ A♦ (One Pair, Nines)
(Pre 25%, Flop 13%, Turn 7%)
Hero wins 29.5 BB

I like 4-betting the BTN preflop. As played I am thinking check folding flop is not a bad idea. If you are going to call the flop I would be happy with the check through to the river and hope to win the showdown with AK like you did.

If I would 4bet it's really villain depended. 3bet sizing of villain is really fishy and if you 4bet you basicly need to go for it if villain shoves. So deep I wouldn't go for a flip or worse situation. Post-flop is most likely fine. if villain would Cbet turn I would just give up.

There is a high variance in HU Games,

@casey- this Ak needs to be 4 bet OOP and if villain pushes a call is needed, even with a random villain.

Because there is really only 6 combos that have you dominated- at this point you block AA and KK where you have no outs.
If villain as or is willing to shove with 99-QQ then you have ~43% equity.

But then if villain shove range is AQo+ 88+ AJs+ A4s,A5s then your equity goes up to a true coin toss. As SDK it is very dependent on villain but IMO if it is a total random I am 4betting and then calling a shove for the reason of this hand- if villain has AQo os AJs, AQs maybe KQs you have him crushed. IF he has AA KK- well hope he doesn't hit and run- but you need to make sure villain know you are not scared to go all in, or he may run all over you ..

KEEP GRINDING!!! GL:f_drink:
