The villain is 24/20/af2.6/3B:9, 101 hands

You made the nut straight on FDC board in a 3bet pot.

Can the biggest calling station make the best fold of his life?

PokerStars - $1 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 104.87 BB
SB: 121.43 BB
BB: 152.07 BB
UTG: 100 BB
Hero (MP): 105.11 BB
CO: 123.25 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A♠ J♠

UTG raises to 2.2 BB, Hero raises to 6.5 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, UTG calls 4.3 BB

Flop: (14.5 BB, 2 players) 7♦ T♠ K♦
UTG checks, Hero bets 4.82 BB, UTG calls 4.82 BB

Turn: (24.14 BB, 2 players) 6♣
UTG checks, Hero checks

River: (24.14 BB, 2 players) Q♦
UTG checks, Hero bets 17.89 BB, UTG raises to 88.68 BB and is all-in, Hero ? ?

Thoughts?

preflop and flop is standard
OTT I wonder if we can overbet and target Tx hands, maybe even QQ-JJ, but not sure.
OTR you beat some value like sets and 98

on the other hand it's a 3BP vs EP, so villain doesn't have many offsuit combos, and I think Adx combos are the most natural bluffs here, so not many natural bluffs available...

it's a tough call IMO, but tough to fold, too, IDK what the best play is

disclaimer: I am by far not an NL100 player, so you might want to disregard what I say

I would overbet a Spade turn but maybe overbet on a brick is stronger, I'm not sure about this one.

Edit: I looked it up in solver

Flop is fine, 63% 7EV, the best line

Turn is check 51%, bet 18BB 35%, bet 12BB 12%

The river is interesting, my bet of 17.9BB is only 1.4%, shove 51%, bet 36BB 35%, bet 14.5BB 8.6%

Well, spoiler alert, if we are supposed to shove ourselves then we can not fold here, imo.

pretty sure solver would mix turn and bet with idk 60 % freq, and check 40 % somewhat ( i didnt check it ). We also have some good blockers to continue betting on the turn. I dont think that overbet would be a good idea(and basicly achieve the same as a 70%+ bet). However i like overbets in this spot in SRP and not 3bet pots.

so i think bet turn and jam river would be a fine play.

As played on the river, i think we do have a calling range here, and AJ is probably in it. So i guess its a call.

River decision sucks, especially given positions. Its spot when he doesnt have many natural bluffs as naked AdXx hands dont exist in his range and QJs/JTs are mixes pre so I think its safe to assume its easy to underbluff there. Really tough spot, but I think its in best case scenario 0 EV so I would give up, maybe I would mix some calls with AhJh and AcJc as both I think are better combos to call with. If it was lets say BU vs MP then I'm never folding.

How do you mean? Solver says AJhh, AJcc, AJss are all 100% call on river vs CRAI.

UTG shows 9♥ Q♥ (One Pair, Queens)
(Pre 39%, Flop 22%, Turn 23%)
Hero shows A♠ J♠ (Straight, Ace High)
(Pre 61%, Flop 78%, Turn 77%)
Hero wins 199 BB
Q9s is not a defend vs HJ 3bet and he doesn't have the right combos to bluff on river. This is note worthy so I took notes and I labeled the villain "not sure if serious".

For sure. Not sure he was thinking. Shoving without a flush blocker as bluff seems optimistic or villain has reads on the hero in this hand.

My line doesn't look all that strong and at the same time I could be bluffing with Ace high or PP down under so then CRAI should take care of all those ranges. Sometimes, you can bluff with your pants down and still get away with it. Viktor Blom style bluff. No combos needed.
