First of all,

Some of you might remember me from before. I once did a challenge here, where I went with a €40 bankroll all the way up to €3000 on Unibet cash games.

However, I am from the Netherlands (regulations have changed a lot since 2021), and my hourly win rate was only about €5. So I have been on a break for a few years. After the latest WSOP, I have been very interested in playing again. And very fortunately, Unibet (my favorite site) re-entered the dutch scene at the start of July.

First of all, I have already put in a few sessions, so I am not starting from scratch anymore. I will update you on my first sessions here, I forgot how to upload pictures here, so my graph will be added in a feature post.

Basically, my stats for now are:
MTTs: 115
Profit/Loss: €610.44
ROI: 285%
ITM: 22.6%

I guess I might be running hot a bit. But I know that the player pool is very weak. During the first few sessions, I noticed that I was very uncomfortable playing short-stacked. To fix this, I started a trial membership at Jonathan Little's site (not sure if I am allowed to promote any other sites here) and focussed on short-stacked play. Soon after, I won a €5 MTT on Unibet (from a ticket won at the dutch welcome missions, since back then I was still playing €1 MTTs).

From that moment, something in my mindset changed. I realized how weak the players were, especially at the final table (i.e. folding way too often pre-flop), and started exploiting that in other MTTs as well. Since then I made a few other notable scores:
- Won a €2 MTT with 70 players.
- 2nd in the tournament from above.
- 4th in the Daily Big $2 on GGpoker (more than 1000 participants)
- 9th in the Daily Big $1 twice on GGPoker
- 6th in the €50 PKO Welcome Dutch Tournament (Note: this is way above my bankroll, but there were daily free qualifiers with about 50 active players and 6 tickets per day, was able to get 3 of those tickets, and on my second run I made the deep-run. Still have one €50 ticket left, which is now converted to a general €50 ticket).
- Min cash on a €25 ticket from the welcome missions.

Note that all these results were within the space of 50 MTTs, you can definitely say that I was running hot!

Because I also earned some money with promotions on GGPoker and Unibet, my bankroll is now:
Starting bankroll: €20
Bankroll now: €910.99
Cashout: €248.29
New Bankroll: €660.70

My BRM is 150x at the moment, which means that I will be playing MTTs from €2/$2 up until €5/$5.50, quite close to my goal already!

For now, I want to say welcome to anyone who wants to join me on this journey! I have some ideas about the next posts I am gonna make:
- Tournament Schedule
- Different Sites I play (Unibet, GGPoker, and IPoker)
- Learning resources (for now the free ones, but which premium ones should I get)
- Management during a session (how many tables, how many different sites, using tools, length of a session, etc.)
- My bankroll management.

I am planning on playing two weekly sessions, so I do expect quite some weekly variance, and I think it will be nice to update this blog about once every week/two weeks.

Good luck at the tables and I hope you join me on this challenge!

Hi all,

I am here with a first update! Since the last update, I have played 2 sessions (about 25 MTTs), although this would generally not be enough for an update, since I am going on a holiday for a few weeks. I think it's time for a quick update.

Results
MTTs: 140
Profit/Loss: €552.36 (-€58.08)
ROI: 183.4%
ITM: 20.7%

No major results in the last 25 MTTs, moreover I only made 3 small cashes. However, I realize that 25 MTTs is a very small sample space and that this actually means nothing.

Today I also want to write a bit about my current MTT schedule:

So without re-entries, that would make for 13 MTTs per day. But usually, I re-enter the GGPoker MTTs when I would still get over 50BB and the same for Black Hole on Unibet and Classic on HC (iPoker). The bounty tournaments I usually do not re-enter. The average buy-in for this selection is €3.29 (assuming €=$), which is well within my bankroll management. It is also worth mentioning that the rebuy on HC is actually a €1, but since I always rebuy and addon I treat it like a €3.

I feel like I would be able to extend this to double the amount of MTTs per session within a short period of time. However, since I am still more focussed on learning and since I do have the feeling that some basic spots still need a lot of thinking, for now, this amount is fine for me.

Next post I will write a bit about the skill level I think I am at, and what learning/other resources I am currently using.

Last but not least, an update about the bankroll (I participated in some sports book promotions which were very +ROI, so I still ended with a higher bankroll):

Starting bankroll: €20
Winnings: €981.76 (+€90.77)
Cashout: €265.44
Bankroll: €736.32

Note that I am currently also in the process of a sportsbook promotion (about €50 +EV) so the next session will be a bit affected by this again.
