Should I switch from Pokerstars to GGPoker? (Solved)

Hi, I've been playing on Pokerstars and I like the software. Although it has been better, it's still good.

But, online gambling is not really permitted in my country (although they do nothing against it) until tomorrow 01 sept.

Tomorrow, online gambling will be available and legal, but poker will only be legal at GGPoker and a few other places I don't care about, I forgot which. Poker at pokerstars remains illegal until 1 year later, when they also can apply for a license to operate here (because they have been operating here all along, they get sort of a penalty).

So I am thinking about switching to GGPoker now that online poker is legal here. But I will not do it until Pokerstrategy has a link with which I can get strategy points .

There must be some players who made this switch before me ... how do you like it vs Pokerstars?

There are no future tournaments showing in my ps lobby ... wonder if these things are connected ... I tried reinstalling, didn't help.

Nevermind ... Just got an email saying from 1st October Pokerstars is not available anymore in my country, probably for a whole year :f_o:

GGPoker is the only available client that should be at least decent, so GGPoker here I come!

What games do you play?
If you play cash games then no, GG sucks as much as other sites. The 3bb rake cap is cool but the 1bb taken from every 30bb pot for the promotions adds to a lot. Maybe it's worth it to compete in the leaderboards but it's not as good as it seems at first glance.

For tournaments, GG is really really good. Also, try Battle Royales!
And if you play tournaments, you shouldn't "switch" between rooms, you can play on 2-4 different sites and choose the best value tournaments this way. :f_thumbsup:

Aah thanks for reactions, Vorpal, thanks for the link!

I play mainly cash but also MTTs.
At this time, no poker available anywhere here. But it is not exactly clear which rooms will be available, hopefully very soon.. GGPoker, and an IPoker skin for sure, and maybe RunItOnce as well as 888Poker. At this time, none are.

Sounds like a familiar problem. I can't play any poker at all from the Netherlands since yesterday :f_frown:

I've been playing GGPoker a bit lately. I play pokerstars myself, but have been trying BetOnline and GGPoker. GG doesn't have sit n go's, which is a real shame. The client it self is very fun imo. The micro stakes games have pretty good traffic at the times I play, and seem pretty soft. So I would recommend it.

Betonline doesn't have NL2, or NL5, but if you play NL5 or NL10 at a differen't site, give Betonline a shot. Its connected to a sports bet site and since the lowest stake is NL10, its much softer then other sites i've tried.

@SDK: GGPoker works in the Netherlands now ...

@Ave27: Thanks for your reply ... I am already playing at GGPoker myself now. I was forced to, but now I am even starting to like it. Well maybe also because like you said competetion seems pretty soft. But I have to reevaluate that on Mondays. I only play $nl2 now ... No sng's? Is that a dying format then?

GGpoker is such a bullshit by any means. Often soft freeze, bullshit rake back system, cosmic rake. Why people still play that trash?
