I started with a rather conservative bankroll management, but due to the soft field I'm willing to take some more risk (still reasonable risk I would say), on a site like Party I would surely use a safer BRM. My current plan is to start playing $5 HUs once I hit the $250 mark, but in the beginning just a few while still grinding $3, and once I'm below $250 again, stop registering the $5s until I get back. Even with a smaller ROI it's profitable for me right now to play on a higher limit until my bonuses are cleared. But generally you are right with the suggested bankroll.
I didn't mark the players. The choice of opponents is a good decision.
That's really useful and important. For example I note players who can raise me with total air, so I won't fold against them that easily, or note if a player only raise with absolutely strong hands so I can fold easily my marginal hands. Another great example is a guy I played something like 500 hands against, he can fold from BB with as small as 1.5BB, so under 10BB effective I min-raise him with hands I would rather fold or open-shove against a random player because that strategy really lowers my variance against him.
Against really bad players it's not that important in my opinion to note excessively, usually I just give them a tag, or something like "maniac", "can't fold" ETC, but against competent opponents it's much more important, as they have less leaks, and our edge on them is much lesser, so finding their leaks are crucial to beat them.
