if You wanna look like a bluff on turn what range do you represent? aslo in this kind of situations think how opponent would react to your overbets with certain hands. Would he just call or shove. I think its good questions to ask yourself.

AS played there is no escape from this

Idk about opponent but you might just throw him off of any top pair or floats with overbet

No. But i think your size OTT is way too big. 75% seems enough. If he is reg he might throw high ace. It depends on the player.

um, I think play is fine, RFI pre 55 from UTG is suspect- for a reg.. ON turn he can be getting in with Akc, AQc and their off suit brother and sisters. I am not sure how i feel about the 1.5x pot bet on turn, as you aren't the preflop aggressor, But that being said with the club draw on the turn i would be trying to figure out ways to get all in on turn, which you did.

unlucky

Yeah, I don’t open 55 from UTG almost never.

BB seems to be a recreational player, wouldn't you open any pocket pair in that case?

I open it if i am not playing with alot of 3bettors- so if not many regs are playing in the game..

Yeah, I don’t open 55 from UTG almost never.

That’s an interesting question. I doubt I look that closely in RC. I just stick to my chart.

UTG? open? doesnt matter what BB is- you have 5 more villains that can 3 bet you and then you have no opinions but to fold.

IMHO overbet is mistake there. I dont think you want to go that big when part of your x/r range will be naked Ax. Also you dont have nuts advantage. On top of that you may kick AK/AQ from pot, clearly not what you want.

What happened to adapting? You shouldn't blindly follow our ranges.. recreationals/fish is where our money comes from - ofcourse we target them. Such players in the blinds definitely means opening up your range from any position. We obviously scan for aggro 3betters behind us, but first thing you should spot is the rec there and adjust.

+ why would have no option but to fold to a 3 bet from any player behind? Seems a bit tight imo.. it's all about adapting

My two cents:

Call pre, once again with the knowledge that the BB is recreational and we definitely want to play hands that have nut potential with recs. :f_thumbsup:
Flop: Wouldn't raise here; we don't want to scare away any of those 2 players - we can start building the pot on the turn.
Turn: It will probably go in anyhow

As played: The overbet on the turn is actually quite interesting, not yet sure if I like it in this spot, but definitely keep experimenting with that!

Okay, hold the phone..... If you are UTG and BB is a rec as you say, from looking at 1 hand and have no stats on villain. DO you not worry about anyone else with cards?? or are we now just worried about the rec player at the table? I agree with adapting- but your reply, has no addition information to it, about all the other players at the table

So if the rec is BB, you are UTG and open with pocket 5's and the 4 other villains in-between you and the BB are all regs, your widening your RFI range from UTG.. I think you are naive in thinking that this is positive for your EV in this practically game, you will be burning $$ in that position playing this way. NOW you are in UTG and All other villains at table are rec players, I say go to town and vpip 40% all around. I can agree with this. As for folding to a 3bet behind you, yes you fold. You have 55, you are a 11 to 1 shot to make a set and there are very few boards you will be able to continue on when aggressor cbets. Hope this makes sense.

Now your second post talks about Drifters hand, which I can agree somewhat with your thinking. with this being said i will presume, that your first reply quoting my reply was still talking about drifters hand. Where as I was speaking about UTG hand. But i am not sure we could just be having a disconnected conversation.

All i am saying is with 55 in UTG you rarly open, and BB being a rec, doesn't change that very much. IMO..

For over all scheme of things, I think I agree, we are playing against range after all.

22BB on turn then?
