I don't know why, If I play from Romania in my case, I can't log into pokerstars.ro account and play while I am on vacation on France for example. It's idiotic since I am resident of a country but for the moment I am on vacation on another country. It does not make sense to me.

Be careful, I got banned at PS before, for using VPN. My ban was lifted after submitting a bunch of legal paper works, but I play more at GGP at the moment.
PS is legal in my country Japan, I was on vacation in the USA, and I used VPN to play at PS, they caught me immediately.

I have the same situation here.
I live about 20km from the US border, but if I'm in the USA physically, and use a VPN with a server located in Canada, I can't complete the login.
I hate the rules themselves, but love that PokerStars are diligent about catching people trying to work around the rules.
As always, be sure to read and understand the terms and conditions of the poker site you play on.
All the best,

I was not talking about using a VPN, I just tried to play from my phone on mobile data. So they know that I am away (out of the country ) but I still can not play. It seems a bit stupid from them. But it is what it is.
A break it is always good.

Ah — now I understand.
I don't know about rules in the countries you mention, but in my case it is the USA itself that forbids access to online poker sites from within their territory, so in that case PokerStars doesn't have much choice.
