GG Poker - $0.25 NL FAST (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 101.4 BB
SB: 217.72 BB
BB: 115.8 BB
Hero (UTG): 114.84 BB
MP: 33.08 BB
CO: 100 BB

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has J♥ J♣

Hero raises to 2 BB, fold, CO raises to 8 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls 6 BB

Flop: (17.4 BB, 2 players) 5♥ 2♣ 7♠
Hero checks, CO bets 6 BB, Hero calls 6 BB

Turn: (29.4 BB, 2 players) 8♠
Hero checks, CO bets 18 BB, Hero calls 18 BB

River: (65.4 BB, 2 players) 2♠
Hero checks, CO bets 68 BB and is all-in, fold

CO wins 60.92 BB

The villain is a tag with 18% 3bet preflop.

I probably should 4bet him but I decided to take a flop instead. I think turn sizing smells like draws but I just let him fire except that the river is one of the worst cards in the deck, imo.

Thoughts?

Postflop tendencies are important here. Is he cappable to bet if he miss? If not shove OTT is reasonable. Anyway without proper reads i agree with the fold. There is some hands that you beat like 99-TT but it's not enough to me.

I think he has like As5s. It's everyone's favorite 3bet hand, imo. And mine too.

Hard to put him on such a specific hand.
What did you think about raising the flop? Or did you?

My favorite hand for 3bet is AA, not A5s :f_biggrin:...You need few bluffs to call here...Let's say KQo..Still kinda close...You can fold ofc..But with J♠: you should call imo...

I would be lead to believe a call on the river is probably- pretty indifferent.. as someone said above it is more of villains post flop tendencies you need to look at. Does he cbet IP on flop like 80% does he have a high double barrel? Things like this.

I like the 4bet idea preflop- I would probably prefer AQunsuited or KQ unsuited as you have blockers.

I don’t see villian with much of a flush besides as said A5 spade. His turn size bet is interesting as well, as he is giving odds for a call with JJ and 1010. Also good flush draws to the back door.

Then jamming on river that completes a flush.. interesting hand….
