My short Poker Pro career started right after Uni. I discovered the game and fell in love with it. I won 300$ at one of the MTTs and received a job offer as a Front End developer. I had quite a good run back then, earning good money for my needs (~1-2K / month). But I was struggling creating a systematic approach. The biggest downside that I felt back then is the fact that Poker Pro prime time for session was in the evenings / nights especially on the weekends. That is when all my friends hanged out, and the time when I was available (workdays, 9:00 - 18:00) my friends were busy at work. That harmed my social life quite hard.A big hit for my Poker Pro career was Black Friday. I was playing mainly on FullTilt back then and when it went down I lost my 4.5K bankroll. That was a first hit. I recovered it partly in the next few month, but another issue emerged - I became very tilty. Some times I could be upset and loose 40-60% of the bankroll in attempt to "win it back" at the end of negative session I would climb 1 or 2 limits up and do all "classic" tilt moves.
The very end of my career came when I lost my bankroll 2 times within 2 months (due to poor BRM and tilt moves):
1. First time I borrowed 1K from my sister and could win +1.2K within a month to pay her back and have my BR back.
2. Second time I borrowed 1K from my mom and lost it eventually.
After serious conversation with my girlfriend who supported me at that time I decided to find a real job. I had this idea in mind back then that I would earn money and come back to Poker. I was 26, had masters degree in economics and no work experience. I got my first job in Samsung R&D Ukraine as Junior developer and was very surprised with the level of engagement and motivation in department. Coming from Poker where nothing happens when you do nothing I was shocked how many people are doing nothing in the office. I was quickly promoted to the Team Lead role within 3 months and my career in IT started there...With that being said, now I actually understand what my parents tried to say to me back in a day. After working in different companies and having different roles I now firmly believe that world would be a much better place if all people aimed their efforts to solve important and relevant problems. At the end of the day Poker is an entertainment for most people and doesn't create much added value. Now I wouldn't consider it as my profession, but really enjoy having it as a hobby and side hustle.
From finance prospective Poker is actually a very good activity. With my level of income, high taxes and my level of lif I manage to accumulate about 1-2K in saving every month. With poker being a side hustle generating additional 2K / month would speed up my wealth accumulation 2x and bring my retirement age much closer. That being said if I would manage to keep my profits same as during 1K->10K challenge it would speed-up 5x and this is real game changer.
I feel what are you saying in this post, I can relate to you, the only difference is that I took it the other way :sifflote:. School first, job second and now I want to invest a lot of time into my passion for poker. When I started playing poker in college I had nobody to relate to and to encourage me, they all thought that I will become a gambler and loose all the money I had, my parents also even thought I tried to explain them that poker is not like slots.
Now I have financial stability, a job that allows me to purse other staff and a very supportive wife, so I want to see where this path takes me.
3. Lower GTO Mistakes rate below X% over the last Y hands (aka "Learn the strategy") this one I think is the most suits you just because "learning the strategy" will get you in the end to your 1st point and also I think that you proven that you can beat the limits that you play.

This also makes a big difference for me in my recent return to poker. Playing for a living and playing as a hobby are totally different things.

Following the recent news about Unabomber passing away in his cell, read his manifesto for the first time. I was very much impressed with the problems of the modern men that he described. Given it was written a fair 20-25 years ago it is still very much up to date. I could relate to many points in his manifesto, especially when he defines a notion of surrogate activity:
A surrogate activity is an activity that is directed toward an artificial goal that the individual pursues for the sake of the “fulfillment” that he gets from pursuing the goal, not because he needs to attain the goal itself. For instance, there is no practical motive for building enormous muscles, hitting a little ball into a hole or acquiring a complete series of postage stamps. Yet many people in our society devote themselves with passion to bodybuilding, golf or stamp-collecting. Some people are more “other-directed” than others, and therefore will more readily attach importance to a surrogate activity simply because the people around them treat it as important or because society tells them it is important. That is why some people get very serious about essentially trivial activities such as sports, or bridge, or chess, or arcane scholarly pursuits, whereas others who are more clear-sighted never see these things as anything but the surrogate activities that they are, and consequently never attach enough importance to them to satisfy their need for the power process in that way.
It so well describes the poker challenges nature that I'm setting and pursuing myself.

I'm running extremely well in all recent 25x multipliers. Don't want to brag, but that is the fact that I can't ignore and it makes me very emotional. Every 25x multiplier game has a price distribution of 20x for the first place and 5x for the second. The feelings are very close to the ones when an MTT player reaches the final table.
In 10x+ games ICM is involved and to be honest, I'm not working at all on ICM spots in my game. So I'm playing more or less like I'm playing normally (winner takes it all) but a bit cautiously. Don't make thin value bets on the river, and don't do crazy call-downs with 4th pair, which I'm normally doing. It is very exploitable and I should raise this topic with the coach tomorrow.

Incredible results! Unfortunately i cant play at this platform from my country :(. Out of curiosity, usually how many regs do you have per table ? Games look very profitable. I am playing pokerstars and my games, which are hyper 6 max are often full of regs, 4 of 6 is normal thing especially in the evenings... and i am talking about the lowest stakes...

What country is it?
At the top limit (100s) that I'm currently trying to beat usually it is 0-1 reg in the line-up and it would be either 2 rec players or 1 reg + 1 rec player in the typical game. The downside of rec players line-up is a low traffic because they play 1-2 tables at the time with breaks in between. Typically in no-reg time I would play only 15-20 games / hour. When there are more regs, games are not that profitable, but you have ton of volume.
Now, when you say 4 out of 6 are regs, how do you know, that they are regs, what is your definition?
When I followed a very simplified strategy it was hard for me to note anything about other players and mark them regs or fishes. Later, when I developed more sophisticated strategy, more plays started to qualify as "fishy". I'm still not so good at identifying shortcomings of opponents and exploiting them. Hope to develop it with coach eventually. The best types of players are fishulars 
(regular fishes) that play poor poker in big volumes.
I used to be one when I played poker back in a days. I put a lot of volume, played 24 tables at the same time and my game was very basic with tons of mistakes and leaks. If you have those 4 out of 6 players on your table - than it is a very good place to be...

the more you play the more offering chances we have I assume.. and .. did anyone ever get the max spin bonus for winning,, such as for the 10 cent one / 1000$ .. 1$ 1m? And so on? If so please comment.. but all things aside I love it

My overall point is that any given fish won't be a sustainable source of your winnings. They play a bit, they loose money and they take a break. You can analyse tendencies of recreational players only by looking at overall "population" tendencies. Where winning regulars are the ones that you will play a lot in the long run, finding leaks in their play and have a different adjustments to each of them will pay you well. Winning regulars on micro-low limits would be the same "fishes" but with different set of leaks.

The maximum I've got was 25x multiplier. According to 888Poker table of probabilities for 100s limit it happens 1500 per every 1mil games, that is 1 in 666 games. I was lucky to get it 2 times in 769 games and win both of them.
That being said, I had little luck with 25x+ multipliers during my 1K->10K challenge. In 3K games I only saw it once.
