How advanced are online plo courses (RIO, Jnandez etc)?

Can anyone tell me about runitonce’s and Jnandez’s pokermastermind courses? Are they meant for how beginners exactly? Are these plo courses uniquely beneficial in overall or should I try to piece-meal it my self from the material available on monthly fee?

Sure strengthening the basic is always good but I dont want pay $150+ for the stuff I can dig from my own bookshelf and notebooks and more importantly I dont want to put in 50h+ into study without knowing for sure I’m gonna get some.

I checked the rio’s course and atleast it would a good presentation on the subject it seems. But is it Galfond’s or some other dude’s course? Cause, you know, everybody loves Galfond! :f_love:

I write something about myself as player at the moment so you understand better what im looking for:

Im currently playing plo25, I used to beat plo50 6max back in the day 4ish/bb+rb+whatever. I have full ring background but I have always played some heads-up too because I like to start my own tables instead of waiting.

I’ve been hammering range-thinking into my playbook. Im gto-curious person but I prefer exploitable. Maybe biggest change in my game compared to 5 years ago is being actively balanced, trying to always spot situations where I could be vulnerable vs regs. Other thing Im trying to put effort on is mapping repetitive situation and trying to construct some kind of concepts out of them because I dont want to win this war shooting one bullet at the time.

Last weeks Ive been studying Tom Chambers second advanced plo book I found lying in the internet.. by accident. Though incredible chart heavy and slow read as fuck, it’s really powerful knowledge and I understand most of it’s ideas on play dynamics etc. Because piracy is wrong Im gonna do later some penance by sharing some of it with you after I have finished writing google sheet-charts and my notes on some of the good stuff. You okay with this?♦

So last item, Jnandez. He has a book and a course too. This time I will be buying the book. What do you think I should do first, Jnandez plo-book or runitonce’s plo-course? Or should I do Jnandez course like “crushing small stakes plo” instead? I would appreciate feedback especially from experienced players who have studied and adopted his stuff.

the jnandez book is basically the content from his ten-week transformation series. maybe you've heard about it.
it is not bad at all, depends a bit on where you are. would recommend it to every beginner, and maybe like if you still feel the need to strengthen your foundations, or if you just want to have a book to read some plo content offline from time to time.
bookwise then maybe tom chambers is a step higher. or two^^ but as you've said its very chart heavy and i think what you've found is also not the whole book and just 2/3 or like that.
jnandez also said in times of solver the books are not outdated but the solverstudy is a more practical way of learning what you need and want to learn.

overall plo mastermind very solid stuff i would say. good coaches, with luuk, jnandez, suhepx, etc.
there's also one more micro/beginner series for example by luuk addressing the adaptions which should be taken on the lower stakes.
and then you have like explanation videos for all important topics giving you some baseline for your further studies.

rio i can only speak for the basic level content there. dont know the exact name. they have two levels ♦ and their courses.
the basic stuff is good too maybe a bit more generic and not so detailed like plo mm stuff i would say and is more weighted towards practical liveplays. at plo-mm you also have tons of liveplays and session reviews but also a very detailed theory section, which might be more covered in the rio courses, i could imagine.

so my recommendation would be plo mm for one or two months and most important the plo trainer if you dont want start with monker.
