Ever since I heard about it about a month ago, it has been my lifelong dream to become the Polish Poker Champion at the Polish Poker Championship. And thanks to KKPoker my dream is still alive! You can see one of my qualifier struggles here.

I will bring you a vlog and reporting from the Bratislava event, which I attend from the 9th of November.

Getting ready
Naturally, I don't want to be left behind and look like I am out of place. I am Czech, and I only really can understand our Polish brothers after we share a bottle or two of Żubrówka. So before I attend, I decided to practice some nice Polish poker phrases to fit in. See how I did:

Siemka ;),
I will also attend PPC. I am planning to play in today's side event at 14.00 and in tomorrow's main event at noon. I have like ten year experience of playing poker online and 0,0 experience of playing it live so I am very excited/scared about whole ordeal :f_biggrin:. I will try to look you up in the casino. Good luck Lemon!

Just my luck, I enter the 60 eur turbo, and who isn't at my table but the legend Krzysztof Tadeusz Mielnik, who has had the best score in WSOP out of all Polish players in history!

MP opens to 3x BB 7 handed, I chicken out, I mean I mix a call in, and call T♦:T♥: in the BB. The champ folds, board is 4♣:5♠:6♦:, I lead small like the modern cash game pro I am, MP calls, turn is:3d: checked and I go for small river value bet on the river that gets a fold.

Later some fireworks ensue between other players, two pair Vs top pair and we are down a player

The legend at my table just lost a big pot to A♦:A♠:, and now is bouncing back, jamming A♦:T♥: and getting a fold, only todouble up T♠:9♠: Vs 7♥:7♠: later and being back in the game. That's why he's the highest scorer in the WSOP Main Event baby, practicing flips, that is the way! One of the guys that busted out early was actually from the same hometown.

The table is mostly quiet, the dealers actually are from Poland, I am glad I practiced so well and have become the master of the language (not)

Retraction, breaking news, this just in, a lot of the dealers are actually from Hungary! I am sure that's why nobody gets my Polish. The table is starting to heat up, we are down to much smaller average stacks in the turbo, I play like a nit as I am trying to figure out the reporting side for the actual Main Event.

Heading into the first break I am at 20k chips with 400/800 blinds with 800 big blinds ante, average stacks is 35,000. Negreanu makes is look so easy with his actual staff, my technical side bugged out for a bit there and the dealer had to tell me he can't play my hands for me as I was totally distracted with trying to get picture uploads working as I asked him how much to call :f_wink:

Played the main ! No spoilers thought (yet) I will post the ME video soon (TM)
P.S. A big thing I learned is how big of a difference recording equipment makes, there will be some pro footage released eventually and it feels like magic compared to my amateur production

I will also have a couple long form interviews, stay tuned :)

Main event video will be cut soon, there's some photos of me moderating a raffle KK were doing.
The promos they had were insane, if you deposited 200 bucks you got 125 Euro main event ticket instantly. I threw some darts and got a 10 spin ticked I turned into 20 bucks

The whole vibe feels like early stars days of trying random promos, seeing what sticks. So does the whole event feel - relaxed, besides people actually playing, my table was mostly serious/silent.

This wants me want to try The festival Franke is organising that is purposefully made for fun and giggles with gambling side events and such

Here some Main Event footage, of course my table had to have 6 young polish regs who were 3 betting, trapping etc

I caught up with a Polish entrepreneur Eric de Solo at the Polish Poker Championships in Bratislava. With literally zero experience but a lot of enthusiasm, he decided to use most of his poker bankroll to jump into poker publishing/translations. It took him two years to get the rights, translate and publish his first book, Moorman's Book of Poker in Poland. Since then his publishing house Player has translated and published many books from big poker names, and his next one will be one about PLO from Jnandez. Check it out as we talk about poker books, battles for poker legislation and other topics!

The last three longer form interviews from Bratislava! Yes I've been busy!

Blad3K is a PokerStrategist who won a package, plays poker with his Girlfriend and started all the way from $50 here at our very own site. He talks playing in a relationship, poker apps and more!

djalbert182 is also a long-term PokerStartegist, and streamer, who has now won 6 packages to various countries and recorded his first cash at PPC. He talks about not needing to heavily study GTO much and trusting your instincts instead to beat small stakes MTTs comfortably, travelling to live poker after winning packages online, and life in Sweden.

The last one is Scarlet which was brought in by KKPoker - a Valorant streamer, she talks about women and gaming, competitiveness and poker impressions.
