So Q♣:J♣:T♥:5♥: is - 0.18 ev call but Q♥:T♥:J♣:2♣: is +0.06 ev call. Any thoughts? I don't think it is because of the slightly higher fd (J high instead of T high).
Higher fd is the reason. 2 and 5 are kind of same overall though of course value of 5 is tiny bit higher.
But that is a huge ev difference of 0.24. Also the 5 and the 2 don't affect the value of our hand directly but it has removal affect meaning: isn't better to 3bet with a five and unblock the 2 from villains range because villain should fold some of his opening hands that contain a 2? Also isn't there some reverse implied odds with calling a UTG open with a J high fd against a tight UTG range that likely has our J high fd dominated?
Suited connectors are not good in PLO. In first hand, QJ blocks the J high flush that gives most value to Q high flush. Also the other flush is T high. In the second hand, J high hearts is unblocked and other flushdraw is one higher.
Suited connector.
Also, PLO sim is never 100% done. The longer it runs, and the better the parameters are, the closer it will be to the "truth". So slight changes in EV are also possible due to sim.
It is not due to the not converged sim. It is basically that 2x dangler is more viabale in QJT because it will be less often dominated by preflop 3betting range.
