Well actually I have time to play mtts, but like I said in the post above, can't keep my focus. And also I don't want to only play poker. I have other things I want to do, yeah.
Okay so now I lost $200, mainly with tournaments, and I only have $250 left. I can't really play mtts anymore, I don't like to invest my time in $1 games.
So I am going to play cashgames again. This will teach me! Now I have to slowly build it up again until I have more to play mtts as well again.
I will play $10nl, but if bankroll falls beneath $200, I will go to $5nl with 40 buyins.
Maybe I will not be too stubborn and take a look at regular tables as well ... they should be easier ...

Many players and a significant payout if you reach the final table or even win. I only play them if I don't have to go to work next day, because when I am really running well, I don't want to be stressed about the late hour and unconsciously start to play worse (taking too much risks). It's all about patience!

If you play 10nl profitably, you can afford to play an $11 mtt every once in a while, but when you want to play them more often you need a large bankroll!

I don't think playing mtts all the time is for me, as I don't want to put in the time and volume. The downswing is hitting me hard fast now and I am definitely starting to tilt now. So I withdrew $100 again, and will take a short break from poker (could be 0.5 day :f_biggrin:). And I will go back to start with cashgames mainly at $5nl working my way up to $10nl! Or maybe I'll play cashgames to fund my mtts, we'll see, but I left only $130 on my account for now ... preventing me from busting my roll at $10nl or with mtts... can't play nl$10 now.
I'll probably deposit the $100 back one day or another...

Wow, I haven't read blogs in a while and this was a roller-coaster for sure. Nice that you found your groove in the end. I too like to splurge occasionally for MTTs, but the slow pace, the tight play and the time commitment makes them only an occasional occurrence for me. I can't really dedicate the time needed to play them professionally, so I stick to Spins as a shorter alternative with a lot of exciting short stack action. Congrats on the great results in the last few MTTs and keep it up the same way. Also GL in the cash games if you decide to go that way. In the end it's whatever you feel most comfortable with. There is enough recs to take money from everywhere.

Looks nice. I see a lot of big entry fees though. Looks like you occasionally go for tournaments with $25+ entry, and I'm not sure this is the right move with $500 BR. I'd say stick to something like $5s, $10s tops (even though I like to be even more conservative). Even your last tournament is $40 which is a huge dent. I know that playing higher limits is def more exciting, but a losing streak can do "wonders" to your state of mind especially if your bankroll can't take it.

You have a keen eye ... no $25's no no, but there are some $10's which I can't be playing at all (and winning nothing in those) ... even the $5's are pretty close to play ... I should keep it to the $3s' and $2's.
the thing is I just play the same kind of tournament. Starts each hour, and I play whatever comes ... and sometimes it's a $10 ... way to much ... but I don't want to wait or play something else.
I need to think how to change this!

Okay, let's write down some bankroll management-rules for these speed racers ...
Speed Racers Bankroll Management
Buyin > BR/100: Can't play
Buyin > BR/150: Max 1 buyin
Buyin < BR/150: Unlimited buyins
Which for now boils down to:
$1, $2 & $3 buyin games: unlimites buyins for 20 min.
$5 buyin: max 1 buyin.
>$5 buyin: no no!!
It's probably still too risky, so if I start to run bad, I will revisit and tighten rules.
I think going for $5 and below should be fine for you. Also micro tournaments are full of fish so unless variance hits you hard you'll be able to climb the limits rather quickly. I'd say taking a crack at $10s from time to time should be fine, but def don't make a habit out of it. Also stop doing it if things go south too fast. Your plan looks good GL and hope you're able to play the $10s soon without worrying for your bankroll.

Yeah a lot of times i need to buy in a few times to hopefully survive. After 1st level it's 15 more minutes before ITM. 1 time I bought in 7 times and couldn't survive the first level π.
Once you're ITM though things go fast because there are a lot of stacks < 5bb. It's a crazy game with a lot of variance, but it's okay since the games are short. You never have a lot of time invested, and you can play several in the time of a normal speed MTT.
I am loosing quite a lot again, but keeping better BR management ... time for a final table again to refill my roll!!
