In addition to the raw preflop equity, you have to take into account the hand's equity realisation, since you won't just be checking to a showdown. I've seen apestyles do this in a slightly older video with Power-Equilab (I think) that showed a percentage for each hand's "playability profile", that you can use to multiply the preflop equity to get a better sense of true equity.I'm sure these days GTOWizard has some kind of better tool for equity realisation estimates as well.
Working on one study topic at a time is a good approach, though. π
Ah yeah. They don't often check behind flop, so maybe you should look at flop-equity and not 5-card equity. I have Flopzilla, it shows a detailed breakdown of all the hands/draws you will flop.
I'll take a look at some solver ranges again, been a while to be honest. (I don't have solver and am not studying with one yet (or gtowizard)). Have to find some. But it'd be interesting to look at flop-value nonetheless.

Got me thinking what hands can I take this line with BvsB? Check flop - let bluff - call -- bet turn oop
Not so much considering this specific hand that I played very unusual for me, but the whole situation ...
This is a very uncommon line. I would use hands with no showdown value here, and when turn hits more my range, 5♥:6♥:, 4♥:5♥:, T♥:J♥:, etc.
But I also think it's a double-edged sword because at the same time you put your opponent through a world of misery, it's a node of the game nobody is very used to.
On that board OTF I tend to keep it simple and bet range.
When he calls, you might have to turn 55 into a big bluff OTR. It's kind of ok because when he has KQ or sets there he would raise the lead, so it's likely some sort of QT, K7 that you can make fold bombing OTT. He is never folding something like KT in my opinion so just make peace and go for it.
The second hand similar I thought it was pretty good because you had a lot of equity.
Thanks Paraibuda! I'll post some more hands if there's something interesting.
I did not play a lot during the weekend, and as usual some losing:

This week I will fill my BR up to at least $300, maybe $400. From there, no more deposits/withdrawals. Not yet decided what stakes I'll play. Maybe get my confidence back at nl$5 where I feel like I've got this in my hands. I am still down 11 buyins EV$ at nl$5 anyway (although I am up in $).
Slowly slowly grinding my fictive ev-buyins back at nl$5:
Graph = nl$5 only
Spoiler

Still 1100 bbs to go ... I think it was 13 buyins when I said 11 earlier.
Nearing 100K hands, got 93K now.
Oh I forgot to look for interesting hands to post while playing today
I moved back up to nl$10 where the real money is.
nl$5 feels like a waste of time after having played at nl$10. I wanted to break even ev but what's the point. Not quite rolled for nl$10, but will deposit soon.
I've played 23K hands at nl$10 now:
Spoiler

A small ev-profit. But I ran pretty bad for the most part (I mean in the non-all-in situations), it will get better.
I just keep forgetting to mark interesting hands. With GGPoker, if you don't mark the hand and you forget your exact holecards (starting to happen to me :f_o:), the hand is lost in the database ...
And I have 5K more hands to get my ev-line in profit before hitting 100K hands. I am down $13.81 ev overall now for -0.43 bb/100.
Being unlucky ain't too bad if it produces this:

I am winning way more with this kind of stuff and rakeback! Well, I am still down $30 in profit (with 3K hands to go before 100K hands), but probably up almost $200 with this side-stuff.
Thanks to GTOWizard I now have preflop charts for every position vs every position for free. I can use my chartviewer to display all 35 of them and have an overview:

Which is neat:f_thumbsup:. Just does not include 4+bets or the exact %.
Played 100K hands
But it did not go as expected. NL10 giving me some trouble, but it could be that I'm just running bad there. I need more hands at nl10 to be decisive. Starting to look at GTO. I can use GTOWizard free account for preflop and probably will still buy GTO+ for postflop. Let's play 100K hands more under the influence of gto ...

First time posting here! nice blog! I saw your recent overall/10NL graph and I am pretty sure you are good damn proud of your red line. I think you are taking too much care of it making you play too aggro for the stake. Years back I used t have the same kind of graph a juicy red line with big losses so you are doing it wrong imho. I would recommend not having in mind GTO bullshit til higher stakes you are just over complicating things. Hope you can flip your chart upsidedown with blue and green line aiming for the sky with a decent negative red line.
I started to share my daily progress on a new blog.
Wish you luck!

Hi Gurofox I saw your blog, and your ambitious (too ambitious perhaps) plans, but you said you where going to post some masterplan, so ![]()
The only line I really care about is the green one, ev and actual winnings ... you can see at nl$10 the red line is straight, no more going up! I really don't feel aggro, I don't know why it is never going down, could be different things: betting often, betting big amounts, could be preflop, could be river-valuebets, etc ...
I mainly looking at preflop gto-stuff, which is really helpfull already. But if I am interested I will look at postflop things as well. What else should I look at? I am playing fastfold btw, so it's not normal tables where you can get better reads.
Yeah I hope I can turn it around as well! Following your blog already.
Glad to know you are already following my journey. As you mention I have a masterplan that sounds too ambitious maybe but I will lower my cost of life nearly to "$0" and that make things so much easy. Also software development it is at the core of my plan so not only poker but will expand later into this in my blog.

Because of this is exactly why never goes down by playing too aggro. In my own exp when the redline goes up or flat its because your are battling too many pots that you shouldn't. Trying to make people folding is making you lose money. Many years ago I was part of the Gordon Gekko CFP program and to be honest that changed my vision on how to get out of nano/microilmits. You can check this blog from HansTheGreat on this topic. You can still crush nanolimits with some "pretty old" but simple techniques.
I think that playing zoom/fastfold is -EV this days, most of crushers playing there. Back then I easily played 5k+ hands/day in a few hours without giving the importance to the WR but the VOLUME. You don't need to play 100k hands you must higher your winrate.
I am amazed how easily you get seated with 2/3 recreational players (not necessarily fishes but recs) on regular tables at Pokerstars nowadays back then playing regular tables was full of crushers. If you know you can do better reads why not giving a shot and leave ff behind for a while? Maybe is the same on GG.
I am pretty sure you can make your winnings to skyrocket but some adjustments must be made. I am just sharing some life learnings. I am not a crusher neither a pro you can take it or not. Of course I am writing this on a friendly manner.
Lets keep the grind up together.

Because of your posts I went and checked my graphs for postflop streets and filtered for 'any bet', 'any raise', and 'any call'. Turns out the problem is not being too aggressive at all, but calling too many hands I wind up losing!
See the red line is not the problem, the blue line is. I am winning a lot with my bets and raises (without showdown admittedly), but losing soooo much when I call. I call way too often. Hands that I should fold and some I should be more aggressive with, not less. I really wonder how my 'call river efficiency' stat can be 1.31 if I am losing that much with calls otr. I don't understand something probably.
Anyway, I have to think some more about all of this and do some further analyzation.

At least we discovered that you are a calling station π π€£ (joking) the good part is that is easy to fix and I think thats maybe because you get too committed on pots that folding on later streets its impossible and ofc variance involved. I had this same issue and when fixed the red line immediately went down and the blue up.

No for real, I am, apparently. I know I did miss too many sets, straights and flushes (according to luckbell in pokertracker), but that does not account for the whole lot.

Yes, I think so. Too bad I can't make the fold button say 'call' ... that would do it
Postflop bet, raise & call graphs
So here are some graphs in bbs from my little postflop research:
This is everything. Note that I'm breaking even EV after some point where I make some significant changes in my game, but still not winning from thereon. And the blue line dives like crazy all the way!

Then the hands where I bet postflop (no raises):

The raises on flop, turn and river:

Blue line down already, but winning! Maybe I should take a look at this later on, but I have bigger concerns:
And finally hmm the flop/turn/river calls :f_zZz::

That's what I need to work on!
