Variation might be tough on you one month, but she'll smile on you eventually if you keep crushing like this every month!
I really like the idea of a warm-um to remember to focus on decision making before every session. So I'll steal that and use it in my pre-session meditations. xD
Good luck in December!

I thought the same and I stole it too lol =P

Hello guys!
This is the first 2019 and the last 2018 recap post so it'll be a longer one.

For the first part I'd like to make a report from the last month of 2018: December.

Again the month was not very good in results. Again the biggest issue was my mental game, this time potentialized by real life problems. I had to deal with some personal stuff. It's very dificult to maintain my focus on the table, to not tilt, and be easily thinking in my life and stuff. I've increased my dose of work in the mental game, meditating more, watching vids and reading but even then it was not enough for a focused month. But that made me learn a lot about life change, and how life works and that some things seems to be permanent and in the end they aren't and we have to learn/acept that this is how it works and to be better adapting/changing alonside that understanding our feelings and what we really want. I looked at graphs again in the month. and what this made me undestand as well is that not only the will to not look the graphs is enough, i have to undestand why i look at it, and how it affects me to let go of that need of seeing my short terms results. And i'm working hard on that. Overall I worked ~500 minutes on my mindset in total and i'm satisfied with that but i'm sure that's not enough and i need more work on this side of my game.

Besides that, I learned a lot about poker theory this month, learning from new perspectives and undestanding how to better adapt, specially vs good players and very agressive fishes. I had a monthly goal of 60 hours of theory, unfortunately it wasn't possible to make it but i made it very close with 50 hours of work on my poker game. I feel i'm ready to a next month of better adaptation and play on my games. But i feel i have to switch some hours of theory to the mental game side.

I played a total of 1523 spins, reaching my goal of 1500 on the month. The nice part about the grind is that i'm feeling more professional with my atittude towards the game. And it does not make me tired anymore to grind more hours and make a little big longer sessions and to not lose focus on the pauses between my sessions. That's good cause that's something that was consuming my time and my mental game lately.

This is the graph of the month: Graph

So now i go to the second part of the post: 2019 goals and January goals.

For January i want to work a lot on my mental game and give more hours to this topic as i already said. My plan is to re-read mental game of poker 1 and apply the work stuff on the book everyday, like the questionaries about the emotions and feelings. And how should i approach it. Alongside that im gonna increase my meditation to 15 minutes intead of 10 minutes every day i grind. But instead of doing one of 15 min i'll do one of 10 minutes and after 3 hours of grind another one. I'll also try the cold shower every time i feel exhausted mentally and fisically. In total i want to spend 20 hours working on my mental game.
For theory i feel i still have a long way ahead but i can slow down a little bit cause my mental/theory game gap is very big cause i've not been working on my mental side enough lately. So i'm gonna put a low goal and see how it Works. I'll set the goal for 20 hours of theory.
For the grind i want to keep the 1500 spins.

January goals:
- Work at least 20 hours on my mental game
- Work at least 20 hours on theory poker
- Play 1500 spins

And above all I created this blog to motivate myself... so I will set goals for the whole year in the long term

I thought a lot i don't want to make this much unrealistic but possible to make it through hard work:

Goals for 2019:
-Build a professional mental game atittude/muscles in poker and in life.
-Try to not let any doubt in hand or spot unmarked and/or without review
-Attend to the most live coaches i can
-Be a solid winner at 100's 2 tabling. (cEV of 45>)

Hello!
So I finally appeared here
I'm here to mainly summarize my year and to set my long term goals for the next year!
----------------------
So for 2019, althouth there's still room for a lot of improvement, i am happy for how it went overall. I switched my approach to my poker career to a more professional oriented one. I defined a routine, where i could go to university, study the game, play the game, go to the gym, do housework, and managed to still have a lot of time for social life stuff. I think something that bother me a bit nowadays is that i could be working better with better quality- trying to letting go more of other areas of my life while in working hours. That's something I really struggle, i often go to celphone or lay on the sofa/bed while on my working hours for way more time than I should. I feel i need to separate better the 2 main areas (working-not working) on my routine. If someone has tips on that i'd be grateful.
About the improvement on the game, that's something that's really in my day-to-day life and i'm happy with it. It's a part of the core of my day to be reviewing hands. Also being working on major spots every week/month or so. Also during this year I found a study partner and that helped a lot as we developed a lot of deep discussions about the game, and it's been working pretty good.
I think i can say I'm a solid winner on 100's at the moment, and that's the part I'm most greateful about this year, all the journey was worth it. I achieved my main goal since I entered on the spins project almost 3 years ago. But that's kind also bad because on this month and on November I felt i need to set new goals, because even though I love this game I feel I was walking a little bit without a destination.
So these are my results from last 6 months on $100. I felt i was playing solid and also approached the game playing/studying with great quality in these months.
Graph
--------------------

So for next year i want to keep improving on the game as always, but also set a destination to my journey on spins. And again i don't want to make things much unrealistc, but I also want to set extra goals in case I meet all the other ones during the year.

2020 goals:
NEW
-Be comfortably playing 3k> games per month with solid playing quality.
-Increase my working quality (more work, less distractions)
-Build a sample playing higher stakes $250+

OLD -but not less important-
-Try to not let any doubt in hand or spot unmarked and/or without review
-Build a professional mental game atittude/muscles in poker and in life.

EXTRA
-Start to learn a new poker format

Hey everyone, after a few years back with a quick update!

It's always a bit surreal reading through all the past struggles I posted here, and it's funny to reflect on how far things have come

Since my last update in late 2019, a lot has happened.

Firstly, i’ve achieved all the goals I set in my last post

I’m still grinding mainly spins, and now I’m a regular in spins reg and flash, playing up to $1000 buy-ins.

I’ve run my own team, developed strategies for players within one of the largest MTT teams globally, and now I’m working on a project—Card Grinders, focusing on Spins staking and education. Furthermore, I’m the head of education, strategy, and research there

I genuinely love what I do. I have the freedom to explore, investigate, and build strong strategies for both myself and my students. My mission is navigating the high-dimensional space of possible strategies, optimizing it into low-dimensional abstractions that fit within our finite, embodied brains :)

Over this time, I also left my economics degree behind and became deeply fascinated by topics encompassing computer science, data science, physics, machine learning, cognition, intelligence, human learning and games (which are the areas I've spent part of my time sharpening). These fields make me more agentic--enhancing my ability to shape my own future and help others do the same

At present, my focus is on continually acquiring knowledge, applying what I learn to solve adjacent problems in poker and beyond. In the long term, I’m aiming to develop more and more cutting-edge tools and technology for my students while also opening doors to new opportunities outside of poker, where I can tackle bigger challenges and optimizations

Here’s my graph from the past year—around $170,868.77 hyper$+RB, and about $180K in $EV+RB.

Graph

And here’s last month’s result (roughly $EV+RB 36K with accurate RB). I’ll review everything about the current year's journey in more detail at the end of the year in my joint blog with 'Mr.Vendetta' in Card Grinders private community :)

Don’t expect it to be easy, but if you’re willing to embrace the complexity of the game and the process of getting better, it’s going to be an incredible journey :)
