1) fold flop here - and why/why not ?

Preflop: Hero is CO with A♥, 5♠
3 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB 3-bets, Hero calls, SB calls.

Flop: (9.00 SB) 3♦, A♦, 8♣ (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, SB calls, BB raises, Hero calls, SB calls.

Turn: (7.50 BB) 7♦ (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero calls, SB calls.

River: (10.50 BB) J♣ (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets, Hero calls, SB folds.

Final Pot: 12.50 BB.

1) First of all the Preflop decision is close:

Preflop:
It is not completely wrong. According to ORC this is a fold but in tight games you can go down with A rag hands and pocket pairs. They can be played very well in position - heads up.

Flop:
Of course this is the worst case that can happen. I really hope in such situations that the flop goes bet-raise and i have to cold call 2 bets so that i have an easy fold but i always get suspicous if someone 3bets preflop but does not bet the flop.
the best solution here is to check behind the flop - Why?

you don't risk getting bluffed out of the hand against a smaller pocket pair like KK,QQ... also you loose the smallest amount against a monster. You can't get out of the hand here, as long as you just have to call one bet. Also he will bet his monster on the turn most of the time and won't go for a check raise again because he would be to scared that you check behind again.
