hmm well i guess the ½bb sb post is not included in mine. and could you also post in how many attempts this is? i mean how many steals total is it?
considering you are plaing nl100 and i play nl200 it seems you are twice as succesful stealing as me. at least from co and bu, i guess we cant compare sb.
in november i made a total of 1090$ in 16k hands from steals on nl200 so again it would seem that you are way more succesful than me. considering that the sb posting is not included in mine.
im probably too passive postflop.
the total profits i give are my overall profits, not just from steals

im also did an experiment this month with stealing. I changes my steal from 3bb to 2bb to see if i could steal more profitably. my steal success dropped from 61% success to 45% success. so i dropped this experiment last week as its definitely not profitable but i still played 10 days with a 2bb steal. so my steal stats for this month are invalid.
im in the middle of a session but i felt like making a tiny update.
i have had a LOT of interesting spots today and im doing really well. i would post some of them for hand evalutation but i dont think they like posts without stats. so i just evaluate myself
playing much better than yesterday.
mood is high and motivation is high so all is good
i gotta be careful though. sometimes i get a bit too adventourus with squeezes some 3bets. i also love playing super aggressive in freeplay HU cause ppl think that they can just push me out easily. so i 3bet often.
right now im thinking about a squeeze spot i considered. mp2 raises and co calls and i hold ATs BB.
anyways i gotta focus a bit on the game again. really shouldnt start blogging in the middle of session

I think in squeeze spots like that is sometimes better to hold suited connectors or a small pair, since AT is dominated a lot against the original raiser calling range. Since if your opponent can be expected to call you off pretty lightly. Off course you can just make a quick calculation and see if it is still profitable if you get called with AJ+ or AQ+.
well if he'd only call with aq+ then FE would be enough in itself, and i dont see him calling with aj there i am after all a shortstacker but yeah sc's or a pair would be better i think too. its amazing how much profit can be made from squeezing and how loosely it can be done. i could improve much there
for some reason sharpstats wont import any of the hands i played today. frustrating cause i'd love to see the graph.
if anyone of my readers with sharp stats would try if my hh's works in their program i'd appreciate it.
today went really well and im up around 390$ for the day incl. bonus and RB.

@ rahx in my calculation if he raises 77+aj+ kq+ and folds 25% of that range then its gonna be very marginal. but i think he might fold more than 25%.
low pp's give me pretty much the same ev and low sc's a lower ev.

this squeeze sounds very high risk to me. im not a fan of light squeezeing as it doesnt make sense to me. if u 3 bet a raiser and a caller, isnt there twice the chance that one of them has u dominated?
particularly on FTP u would rarely get away with this as one of the players will hold JJ+ AK+ way to often. this is just my experience and on FTP.
please correct me if im wrong!
squeezing 2 limping donks with vpip 35+ is about as lose as i get with squeeze
on another note raun i see u are now using software to evaluate your game. holdewm manager is really great for this and well worth the investment.
HEM doesnt work well with cake because i change my nick.
well the raiser was a bit loose and i dont worry so much about the caller.
it was probably too risky in this spot though and i also decided not to squeeze.
but to me it sounds like you squeeze to little. u have to remember that it is a very nice spot for you since the caller would most often 3bet his best hands. and u often get a lot of FE, if original raiser raises a loose range.
i finally got sharpstats to import those hands after a reboot.
i played 839 hands only because towards the end i got bored and started playing bad.
i made 330$ + 60$ rb&bonus.

Squeezing is theoreticaly profitable because of foldequity only, problem is that good players will adapt and bad players will call anyways.
As Ishindar said, on Full Tilt you are very likely to get called by at least one player almost everytime, that's why I mostly changed my squeezing range to AQ+,77-88 plus. I get much lighter only if both are late position and preferably they are big stacks, since then the cold caller can really be put on a very marginal hand.
But as always you have lots of factors to consider each time to get a better answer than those basic guidelines..

But then again I've just recently had some really bad sessions.. maybe you have some tips

What are your steal statS? do you have stats on yourself?
I think my steal percenage is a bit high, CO:30%, BU:33%, SB, 39.3 - although I just did a review of why I've lost so much in SB and it's mainly with cards in the top 7-8% (JJ losing to 44, etc etc)

especially from SB and also from BU. i dont like CO so much.
i try to find tables where i can sit with some tagfish on my left who i can steal from as much as possible. blinds and lp are a major part of why i have such a big winrate i think.

just finished a session and it wasnt pretty. i played half nl400 and half nl200 and once more i got my ass kicked on nl400. wtf is up with that? i used beat nl600.
here is a quick summery on my performance on nl200 and nl400 this month.
nl200: bb/100 7.41....... i've been doing well at this limit and im very satisfied with my performance:
nl400: bb/100 -23.77.....ouch!
obviously its a tiny sample size but its superfrustrating to see me nl200 winnings go down the drain on the nl400 tables.
im not finished for today so i will update later as well. i just had to vent a little bit. im down around -140$ incl rakeback and bonus
on 2nd thougth... yeah i think im gonna finish for today. after a session like this my 2nd session is usualy allways negative as well. and i put in a ok number of hands.
in other news:
- finished the christmas shopping yesterday which im thankful for cause the weather is really shitty and i wanna stay in as much as possible.
- i think i may cancel my run today cause my ankles hurt and i dont wannt risk anything.
LATER UPDATE: its early afternoon now and since there was unusually much action i thought i'd test the waters. and it wasnt nice. tables were pretty tight and it was mostly regs.
i played for 30 min and was all in 3 times, every time a coinflip and everytime i lost. so that session cost another 100$. i should have listened to myself and not played more today. i didnt play bad though i was just unlucky. cake has been getting tighter lately which i think is the reason why my graph has changed so much.

These are all on NL200. This month I switched over almost completely to NL200. And so far in Dec I've played 5174 hands and won $617, but I had a couple of horrendous sessions the other day, losing around 5 buy-ins only because I buckled down and managed to win back 5...
Regarding LP, I have recently changed my button steal amount from 3bb to 2.5, and that's allowed me to really open up. When I was playing NL100 (last month) my vpip/pfr was about 9/8 or something, my sb steal was probably %10, and bu and co were probably 20 max... but now at each table I try to maintain a pfr of between 13 and 16. So I tend to raise from mp with a wide range if I've played too tight for a couple of orbits, and raise a lot more to steal - but depending on the opponent. On fulltilt it's hard to be able to choose where you want to sit, so I tend to just deal with the table situation as it comes hence not being able to steal much more.. Although I changed my button and sb raise amount to 2.5bb (from 3), which actually makes me a lot more comfortable with those steals - psychologically... so maybe I can do more... I'll have to experiment..
anyway I think I may take a shot at NL400, since I just recently won some nice cash in an MTT and now I'm overolled for NL400. But do you think I should play more hands in NL200 or do you think I can just go straight up and see how it goes?

imo just replace a few nl200 tables with some nl400 ones. thats how i prefer it.
well your game sounds a lot like my game. i still raise 3bb from lp but i might also soon start raising 2.5 from button and sb. how aggressive are you post flop in steal situations? whats your typical approach IP and OOP in stealsituations?
like i wrote in an earlier post i started playing quite passively LP because villain often c/c or c/r against me. but regs have definately started respecting the occasional flop cbet from me a lot more. so i could probaly start cbetting more.
5 BI downswing in one day is not really that bad.
when I was playing NL100 I would play up to 16 tables, but with NL200 I like to have 6-8 so i can make more advanced moves.. what about you?
in steal situation on the button or CO I always CB unless it is really draw heavy, I don't like giving those away.. In sb I give up my hand easier because I don't like playing oop. I do more sklansky pushes, with hands up to AT depending on the opponent. If he likes to reraise or call then I push directly, if he folds much more then I like to just raise..
Also regarding IP in steal situations, I've started trying to win the pot more than just giving up. So in a lot of cases, if I conti-bet with air and get called, then I check behind the turn, and if he doesn't bet on river I'll push, especially with nothing, but of course I'll do that with made hands as well.. I'm trying to work on the non-showdown winnings
I think I'll try out the NL400 vibe like you've suggested, maybe today..
hmm maybe i could try and put it to the test. for the next 9k hands i could try playing aggressively in lp again and then after that i could compare my results to the last 9k hands where i played it passively.
i think the problem is that i steal so much and people love to c/r that spot. especially against someone as loose as me. so i do think that my current play is the best and then i can just make the occasional cbet. and i think i still get ok value from my made hands.
i will think about it.
oh and btw, what was your actuals winnings from steal situations then?

oh and i play 6 tables tiled btw. but im having trouble with it to be honest. im sure i could increase my winrate by playing 4 tables but 6 tables means 50% more volume and i doubt i could improve my winrate that much by playing 4 tables again.
i have given it a bit of thought and i think i will go ahead and try the little experiment for a while.
