[Closed] Anyone tried the double or nthing SNG format?

same as me ... i played MTT to tight with mostly with top10 and i went to SNG and i was lost.... coz i was thinking like in MTT where is always 9 players... i realy destroyed my knowelage of how strong is my cards in some number of players... i was so easily to bluf and it makes mi -Ev player... folding for example AJ in 4-6 players is big mistake

Right, if you double up within say the first 2 levels of one of these Turbo Double ups, you're on 3000 chips in a 6 seater, top 3 get paid. 9000 Chips in play. You have 33.3% of all chips in play. 5 players left and 2 need to go. Is it mathematically possible in the majority of situations to simply sit out and pull through without being blinded out? I'd imagine that it probably nearly is dependent on opponents.

But some official stats regarding this would be interesting.

Well, I don't have all too many stats, but after I doubled up once I tried just folding every hand until it was over, the equivalent of sitting out (as an experiment, and I was kind of card dead as well). The result was: every shortstack was stealing my blind. I eventually started playing again when the blinds got big because I was down to about 1900 chips because of the steals (150/300 blinds). It seems they get kind of paranoid when it comes to elimination and just wait for premium hands. It doesn't help that most people expect you as a bigstack to bully the shorties so they won't have to risk their own chips. But that was just one table, on the long run it might acutally be profitable to sit out and spend your time on another SNG, I'm not sure...

ive played around 75 of these now, im just sort of in positive win rates. But ive decided its all a lot of hard work for not much return. So im leaving them. You obviously have to win 60% plus to get any return, which is fairly easy to achieve over a few, but if you keep plugging away at it, the downswings will quickly wipe out all your hard work!

Good for a bit of fun, but as a serious BR builder...no no no. Stay well clear.

Played a turbo 10$ on iPoker from a misclick. At the end i was like what the f*ck it's already over?

There were just about 4-5 hands where i had like 4BB (like the rest of the table) and i had to be very carefull where to push.

But of course everybody is folding... I guess i played more or less like a SNG bubble regarding going all in.

I must say they are somehow interesting, but i won't sacrifice my ROI at normal SNG's for DON's.

This is 618 $20 DoN's. 56.6% ITM and 8.9% ROI.

I guess it depends where you play them also. Look at CakePoker! I think they have by far the best conditions for DON's since rake is super small and you also get 33% rakeback. (for that reason there are a lot more DON's than SNG's there)

Rakeback is worth somewhat less when there is supersmall rake.

I play on Pokerstars only, and the rake on DoNs are 4%. You can also start up 20+ tables any time of day cause of the traffic. Atleast on $20 limit.

How is the traffic on cake?

not that big in any case... i think i saw +6 DON's running at 50$. Seemed a good idea for me since i don't play more than 6 tables at the moment but for more than that you need another room.

I recently got into them as a bankroll builder. From my personal experience they are great for mindless grinding. You can pump out as many tables of these as you can handle due to the fact you can just totally autopilot these.
