Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $1(BB) Replayer
SB ($100)
BB ($67.75)
UTG ($105)
UTG+1 ($93.40)
CO ($126)
Hero ($100)

Dealt to Hero A♥ J♠

UTG raises to $3, fold, CO calls $3, Hero calls $3, fold, BB calls $2

FLOP ($12.50) 9♣ A♦ 8♣

BB checks, UTG bets $9, CO folds, Hero calls $9, BB calls $9

TURN ($39.50) 9♣ A♦ 8♣ 5♥

BB checks, UTG bets $40, Hero calls $40, BB calls $40

RIVER ($159) 9♣ A♦ 8♣ 5♥ 3♠

BB bets $15.75 (AI), UTG raises to $53 (AI), Hero calls $48 (AI)

BB: 58/8/4.5 (24 hands)
UTG: 38/34/inf (32 hands)

So BB was a station, UTG was extremely aggressive and did not have a check button. I decided that calling down to let him fire away would be the best option. But his turnbet really confused me, was he really defending against draws here, or was he just spewing and throwing his money in with air.

Didn't really feel like shoving the turn, but I think that would have been best afterwards, because I commit myself anyway on the river and I at least protect against possible draws. But I was just completely confused, also the BB still in the hand confused me.

The blank on the river gave me the idea my hand was good, so I called his rivershove as well. But it's just so complicated, I still can't really get it all sorted out.

So please someone clear up my mind a bit about this hand :)

You overplayed your hand bigtime IMO, especially with another player in the hand. His sample is veeeery small and his turnbet is veeeery big, so I would fold turn and would expect to see at least aces up or AK from one of these villains.

I wouldn't call AJo preflop in this scenario.
There are already two people in the pot (and BB is likely to cal due to his stats), AJ is easily dominated and in a multiway you're almost never flopping a hand that you're happy with anyway.
So i'd 3bet or fold preflop (more likely 3bet due to the foldequity).

As played i'd fold by the turn.
As Hannes said you're beat 100% of the time here.

Thanks, quite a mistake the way I played this hand then...

FYI: UTG was holding AJo and BB A♣ 3♣ , so the "blank" river killed us, haha.
