im also on ongame. i hope i never have to play vs you or ihufa. i would be absolutely terrified. good thing i havent moved to NL100. i find the software really laggy and sucky. slows my pc down so much. i can only play 6 tables max, barely fitting my HEM.

Sorrrrry for not updating for such a long time. I'm currently playing as much as possible to meet my volume requirement for my 1st deposit bonus + bonus program... Deadline is friday, so I promise to make a real update then. I also don't multitable more than 6 SH tables.... and.... *drumwhirl* 3-4 FR tables aswell ;P Maybe sounds a lot but I find that the FR tables take away almost no concentration from the SH tables, and it's going alright there so far... anyway, as I said, more updates on friday

Fencing

Fencing! Competition coming up on Saturday, and it's gonna be fun I think. Don't really have any big expectations, so that's even better I've seen in the competitions for juniors I've entered that I suck when I put pressure on myself. So, screw that.

More of a general feeling though is that I like the way I'm improving at the moment. It's mostly noticeable during "lessons" (when you practice with a fencing master), but I trust that it will transfer into the matches in due time.

Aaaaalright, here's the main part I guess (although why it would be interesting for anyone I dunno :P).

Why I played this month, how I played since last thursday and that Mass Effect 2 is AWESOME
First of all, I had to clear a FDB before today. I did it comfortably in 5 days. I started right after watching TwiceTs leakfinder featuring myself, and played about 2,5k hands every day. This is not really a lot, but just shows mostly how bad I am at putting in volume consistently I blame that this month mostly on Mass Effect 2 though - which is btw an AMAZING GAME OMG.

Why I started winning at the end and what I learned from TwiceTs Leakfinder video
So this is all hands I played on ongame so far. Wtf happened at the end? Well, I don't really know.... if you wonder, I started at 24k after the leakfinder vid. Did it really change that much?! Nah, not really. I mean, there weren't any really big changes I made after the video. I think however it did help me in another veeeery important way.. with my mindset.

As you might guess after all the swongaments and not really having won much at nl100 at all so far after many hands had my confidence pretty beat up. I keep trying to improve, post a lot of hands, had coaching sessions, and noone's really found any big leaks. So why the hell am I worrying so much? I think I went out after watching that vid with regained confidence and just played the best I could. Of course, it helps to run "good" (that means winning most pots when ahead) when trying to reestablish selfconfidence

The biggest thing I think I got from the Leakfinder was a thing mentioned at the end... Play Slower. It was pretty funny, because Jumbles said to me in a sweat session just the night before the video was released the same thing - he asked why I was playing so fast.
This definately was a bit of an aha-moment. I was like, uh, well... I had an excuse of course - that I played on this ongame client where you only get like 9-10 seconds for every decision with no timebank available and had to do it fast while multitabling - but it still definately made me realise that I play waaay too standardized. I don't really think about what range this villain will have in this specific hand, I just see the board texture and the action and go from experience what people usually have and what they do with it. Not good enough. Especially since my standard lines are probably flawed in spots in the first place.

Anyway, all that said it's something I'm still thinking about. I had to multitable obviously to get through the required volume. However, I didn't play 8 or 9 SHtables as I had done previously on onGame, but instead made sure I never played more than 6, which is still a lot (I just played a 4-table session where I just annihilated everyone at the tables, man that felt good). I did however end up with more than 6 tables anyway...... with.......

Wow! I haven't really played FR since..... since.... since I had a downer in SSS in the good old days and tried out "BSS" instead. As some of you might know, I skipped really learning FR before doing SH. I now in hindsight attribute the success of this to my really studying and working hard on it for several weeks before sitting at my first table. I definately recommend beginners now to learn FR first, there's really no reason not to.

Anyway, my FR play. I've added 2 or 3 FR tables to my normal 6 SH tables during the week. I've been on a bit of a heater I think but so far I'm crushing. The tables are full of either nits playing 5/5, fish-nits who play 12/3 or just normal fish. Very easy to play against for me, I play something like 21/19 pre now I think which is working OK - but I think I have to tighten up a bit now that some people are adapting to it.
Things I have problems with on FR:

• Multiway pots. I think you have to cbet more in mw pots in FR than SH, cause:
  * people give more cred and fold more hands (f.e on sh someone might call 77 on TT3r board, on FR they might fold it to a mw cbet)
  * you just get into mw pots more often, so you can't just c/f them everytime w/o a hit
• Nits and their ranges.
  Nits are weird... I mean, I'm not used to second-questioning my play with QQ or KK. I had a hand with QQ where I cced a nit UTG raise and flop came AAx, and where I probably should just fold the flop cause I'm not ahead of anything, I mean wtf :f_o:. Also, a 5/2 nit owned me... he open limped utg and I isolated him with kings, I was THIS close to folding when he reraised but couldn't do it... you know the result obv

Good things with FR though include: 3betting nits cause they fold, opening any 2 on good tables from CO+BU, and not to mention c/ring flops against nits cause they snapfold against my obvious set (72s)

Wait, what.. omaha? Yeah well, what can I say. I feel the OMAHURGE coming (ha ha yes I'm lame). I intend to spend time studying the game as much as I can to eventually start playing aswell (wanna do it the right way like I did with NLSH). How? I renewed my DC subscription! And hastily proceeded to download just about every video they have on PLO (also a lot of nlhe stuff too ofc)

I've watched 2 episodes so far of "Hellomaha" which is their beginner series (esp for nlhe->omaha converts), and it's very very good, just the right stuff! AND! and.. I've taken NOTES. Yes, notes. I've never done that while watching vids before but damn I think it helps a lot, especially with the powerpoint-based vids. Goooooooo me being serious

Played tourneys tonight, pretty much mincashed in 4 tourneys getting pwned by some bad beats, then ran superhot like half itm in double deuce (won AQ vs KK and AK), which got me the chiplead for a while... kept it up good with non-showdown wins up until 2 deciding flips, first against a semi-shortstack with AK against 66 that took me down to a good stack instead of a great one, and then the big flip with JJ vs AK that would've had me cruising to the FT... obv lost it and had to play push or fold for a while, which ended in me pushing T9o into AA sb v bb, taking 30th place for $370.... sucks. I guess it was good getting that far but it's nothing compared to the FT, and it sucks just losing deciding flips and being carddead in the last stage... so many stupid fishes on the table too who just wanted to give me their chips if I could find a hand.

Oh well.... worth sitting up til 6AM for... not

lol gg variance, so sick day.. think I'm playing better than ever but this was just stupid, the ev line doesnt even show it cause there are coolers aswell like set over set and kk v aa bvb in there.... I hate big losing days.....

Also, lifetilt cause my good monitor died yesterday. Just ordered 2 new ones before this doomswitch came, nice. Bah. I just wanna play more poker right now but I really don't think I should I guess, don't wanna risk not playing my A game...

Alright, sorry for venting a bit here yesterday. I had a small break and then continued playing after on ongame instead (before was ftp), and started off by losing AA v TT and KK v QQ all in pre in 100 hands Those beats are ok though so I kept grinding and crushing and ended that session +90 in THAT session, for a total of only -$800 for the day ♠_confused:

I reviewed the session today and meh, it seems OK. I made a bit of an ambitious play at one point where I shoved A9o over a 4bet - the guy opened BU, I squeezed and he 4bet with 15% 4bet over 10k hands... yeah, thought it was a good shove. He called with TT, I flopped an ace and he rivered a T I still think this play was OK but I'm not sure.

I also made a bad calldown against a fish for a stack.

The rest was OK. It was only tilting bcause I think I made good creative value plays in some parts that went wrong cause the fish/regs had me coolered from the start. For example, against a fish I had pretty good reads on (minraise top pair), I cbet/called Axxr flop with AQ, c/called turn bet and donkshoved river for his remaining stack (50 into 60 or so), to make sure he didn't get to check behind worse aces. He called with AK which he had limp/called pre.

Sooo with that in mind I went back to onGame today. Played pretty well I think, ending about -$50 with +$250 in EV. I dunno how ftp and ongame both decided to doomswitch me at the same time
I also don't believe the card removal theory anymore after running into AA and KK with AK several times in a row, to the point where today when an aggro reg snap-4bet me I almost folded, but ofc didnt and shoved it right into his AA

Funny though I seem kinda fine right now. I think it's because I'm really motivated to play now and play well, just to show that I can beat this which I will.

On a happier note, I've bought 2 new monitors... so I'm gonna have 2 nice ones and a 3rd crappy one on the side on monday multitasking FTW!

Olympics are over Was fun, now afterwards it feels like I have nothing to do at all when I sit in front of the comp.. except play poker

.. which I've done and had I posted yesterday it wouldve been an OH IM SO GOOD post when I had a +700 day. Unfortunately I'm posting today which was a -650 day. I got 2-outered 2 times today (set vs overpair). I won 2 flips though so that makes up for it??

Lots of other crap, I made a sick bad call against a fish for a stack... I had folded to his river shoves before because it just seemed like he had to have it, but the 4th time I called with my TPTK on a dry board, he had runner runnered trips. He finished with a 500bb stack and everytime I looked at his hands he had it by the river so he was just in godmode that's all.

It's so hard to keep playing and not tilt

Despite this I've been considering a shot for a while... just to take ~4-5 stacks and try out nl200. I think what caltabiano said (I think he did atleast) is true that after you play on a higher limit the lower ones seem much easier.. it would be cool to have the same feeling on nl100 that I do on nl25 and 50 now. I think though that I should maybe have more confidence before trying it, cause right now I see that I'm considering the money to be lost already which means I don't consider myself capable of making the shot successful which I think I would be.
It's just a thought for now, wouldn't really like "wasting" $1k either but.. as I said.. it shouldn't be wasting

fish in godmode = worst nightmare (aside from monsters eating our brains & entrails ofc)

Ok so I lost my first nl200 stack... doesn't feel great but not that bad I guess. Annoying part is it did kill my profits for today where I felt I played really well. Actually, lately I think I'm just generally playing pretty well and having a decent mindset. Even when onGame network crashes in the middle of my session

I've given up ever running at EV again though. I mean, I guess some people aren't really meant to run good - I'd need a pretty huge heater to get there, even if it's not as big as caltabianos for example I guess I run hot hitting cards postflop...... maybe.

How do you know you're getting affected by this? When you induce a fish to put his 150bb stack in on the turn in a 5227 2 heart board against your AA (played that pretty well cbetting really big in 3bet pot cause he has so many overpairs he cant fold but might on scarecards later), thinking you'll see a worse overpair, then seeing he has a bare flushdraw (8 outer) and think "shit, he has so many outs" (actually being 18% to win) and then not being surprised when the heart rolls off on the river

I still seem to win, be it only slightly :f_p:, and feel like playing a lot so I'll keep plugging away of course

Outside poker, I've been watching Challenge Bernadotte this weekend, which is one of the biggest tournaments there are in fencing (it's a "Grand Prix") held here in stockholm (which is weird considering how small a fencing country we are). It was enjoyable, did get really tired after getting there at 9am on saturday after being out partying friday night.

Other than that... I don't have much else to post about Umm... nope
