Happened to me just yesterday first time this year 
I do not know what, but something about ONE particular hand made me insta-cashout .. And it is really rare I have seen every possible suckout in my SNG life .. Pretty strange, but I like to follow my intuition ..
ill plan on cashing out in a few stages to reward myself for the good work.
cash out would only happen at the US1000 mark since any money smaller than that does not really interest me.
bankroll cash out amount
US1000 - 500
2000 - 1000
5000 - 2500
10 000 - 5000
20 000 - 10 000
50 000 - 25 000
the rest would settle itself....
^ you might want to cash out smaller amounts tho. a 50% hit is pretty big. Unless you really plan to rebuild.

did the same, but can't afford to take a long break. What would i do with all the free time!!!
So i decided to start anew with a small BR. Grinding SnGs
For now my poker BR is just a nice psychological cushion, knowing that I can support myself and that I don't really need to keep my main job once I'm fed up. I make small occasional cashouts whenever I need to buy/do something extra, but for the most part I'm keeping my BR to grow and move up limits quicker.
I've read about some neat cashout methods for cash game pros... like paying yourself an hourly wage based on your estimated winrate (+bonuses+rb), regardless of how well or badly you're actually doing. With a BRM of something like 100BI's this virtually guarantees that you'll have a stable income regardless of variance, and encourages you to put in more volume to get paid more. You can also decide to save up some of your "salary" to take shots at higher limits.
Now I whent to Vegas 2008,09 and this year i wasnt shure like last time. and my friend tyies now for weeks to persuade me to come with him. but i didnt whanna touch my br 4 that. but Yesterday i made 4th place in a 16.50 turbo at stars. and he didnt even need 1 sec to talk me more into this trip. so i cashed out yesterday night enoughe 4 the trip+livepoker br (flight+hotel(sahara)) and booked it instandly. baaaaaabaaam. im so happy. viva LAS VEGAS APRIL 2010. wish u all good luck guys.

Yeah FT does that, once you reach around $5900ish with a $100+ bonus all but cleared they bring out the broom that looks like a tree trunk. It's FTs way of saying congratulations you didn't quite reach it. This process usually followed by you walking in on Chris Ferguson pounding your girlfriend while holding THE doomswitch and giving you a sleezy I've taken your money and now your girlfriend look.
if you're comfortable playing a certain limit with ~40-50 BIs I suppose cashing out weekly/monthly or maybe a fixed amount would be the answer
but when you have no job and must pay 550-600 euros each month for car and insurrance (and ofc phone, food, drinks and stuff) you're quite happy when you get to spend something for your own personal pleasure. 70 buy ins doom days right after cash outs suck tho...
I like to cash out :P, thats why I cant build my BR properly- payed for school, apartment, vacation, bought a laptop etc.
Now I decided to pay for some coaching to find out my leaks so I can cashout more often much bigger amounts.

I still don't cash out regularly. Just moved up to 25NL, and im only making 3.5bb/100 over 60k hands, so I still don't feel like it's time to cash out.
Anyway, when i start to cash out, I'm actually gonna be cashing out only the ammount that i earn from rakeback. That way I won't hurt my bankroll much, and that ammount is gonna be a fixed ammount everymonth, given that i play 3k hands religiously everyday
