I just cashout whenever i need to pay something or want something. Since my expensives is not that high, im just reserving money to buy a car
Played a sunday million all my bankroll round 3 weeks ago, lost around 100th place got 800 dollars, turned the 800 dollars into 2700 in 3 days from 180 player turbo sngs, took out 2k, played other big tourneys with the rest and got wiped out.
I'm planning on building my bankroll to 100BIs for the 11$ SnG and then cashing out regularly all of my winnings to my e-wallet and everytime I need something or I want to play a live event I will take the money from there and deposit it on my bank account..
Haven't thought about it though if I want to do it every week or every two weeks or once a month..

Pokerstrategy.com degen of the year!
I think unless you are a semi-pro (trying to make pro) or a professional poker player, then you should only really cash out when that money can help you get through a particularly bad financial situation.
If you are planning on turning pro then the standard is to keep 100BI for your chosen limit and on a set date each month you should either withdraw back to 100BI or deposit to 100BI (should you have a negitive balance on your chosen date).
If you are a semi pro, then the standard is the same except you withdraw only half the profit you make, and use the other half as a bankroll boost to get to the next limit, where you can hopefully quit the day job and make enough money to support yourself from poker alone.
The half that you withdraw as a semi-pro isn't for your spending pleasure however, it's supposed to enter a bank account that will eventually reach six months living expenses. This is to cover bad months where you can not afford to withdraw. Anyone turning pro should have a safety measure such as this in place before even thinking about quitting the day job.
Interesting topic
I have only just started playing winning poker with ps.com using only starting capital so no point in considering cashing out yet, just building BR.
Poker is currently a hobby, but I am hoping that eventually I can turn it into a second income.
Once I have moved up to say NL100 I plan on paying myself a salary using a cashout strategy based on my overall lifetime winrate:
Cashout = 15% of expected profit
where expected profit = (bb/hand * bb) * hands/month
and bb is taken from the lowest level played that month
and bb/hand is your current winrate over your entire poker career (not just the months performance)
So if my current overall winrate is 7 bb/100 and I play around 15k hands a month, and my lowest level played that month is NL100 my salary would be:
(0.07 * $1) * 15,000 = $1050 * 15% = $157.5
I would then also pay myself quarterly bonuses of 50% of any rakeback or deposit bonuses received during the quarter.
This way you I can pay myself a guaranteed amount based on my overall performance, regardless of upswings or downswings (which should help to keep me motivated through the bad times).
I made a cashout i think 5 or 6 years ago. I played for playmoney and just for fun some freerolls but never deposited. I don't know even what poker site that was because it doesn't exist anymore.
So in one nice morning i came out of the bed and checked when is next freeroll.
Surprisingly there was 1100$ on my account. And i made my only money withdraw till now:)
Once or twice per month, exactly as question in the vote said "Once my bankroll hits a certain amount!" I dont like to play much with the higher bankrool and on higher limits as i am used to and capable, as then i would probabaly overplayed myself :f_cool:. And i feel good when i cashout and i have to build my rool again to certain limit, it is some kind of motivation....:)
