idiot player and I mean this in the nicest way . I used to lose more money with AK too when I was a donk.
Btw , if you are playing 9 handed , 16 cards are not in the deck when you calculate your chance of winning .
If people fold hands like A2 K4 etc then your probabily of winning goes down .
Play heads up and your win rate with AK should go up .
Question, are we talking FR or SH? I'm guessing FR because I shove AK all day long in SH, but just to clear it up before I make a fool out of myself with a long post.

[rest left out due to lack of both sense and relevance]
You see, this is why so many people dislike you. You actually believe that you're good at poker.

I wouldnt like me either, I rob people blind. I have a few leaks in my game one of them being tilt.
Anyways , I cant see how AK can lose so much for you , here are some tips.
1. Never call a raise with AK , either move all in raise or fold
2. Never call an all in with AK , fold unless you are pot commited
3. If they call the re raise , c-bet the flop to represent big pair they might be set mining and will fold if they miss which is highly likely
4. Obviously if they move all in on flop you have to let it go unless pot commited
Follow these simple rules and AK will win more money than you had ever dreamed of
Examples...
ok not AK but , limp with AQ with the intention to re raise because I dont want to raise and be called , I want to be the one raising,
villian defends blinds I shove all in representing limp with pocket aces, I show him the hand , next time I show him pocket Kings after he calls with 99
This hand , i re raise , I know he probably has a good hand hopefully AQ or AJ lol, and obviously I can just check and the flop looks pretty safe no Q or J , I have to bluff tho see rule 3.

C'mon. You're telling people playing shorthanded to limp/raise first in. It simply doesn't make sense to limp AK/AQ just because someone MIGHT 3-bet you. Learning how to play in 3-betted pots is just as simple as learning how to play in singleraised pots. Honestly, where do you get this stuff? You need to be running like a god if you're beating any other stakes than freerolls.

only a few great players limp with big hands , phil helmuth one of the best players ever does it all the time.
OK, after the mentioning of PH I don't think there's anyone not convinced that Grailer is a troll yet.
Here is how you win with AK vs QQ or JJ 51% of time
First of all you need to raise in a position where you would have a hand like AK AA KK etc .. if you actually have AK the chance of hitting the A or K is only 39% which sucks and is -EV vs QQ or JJ .
However if you dont have AK then the odds of hitting AK on flop is 51% which is slightly +EV also you might hit a set then u really hope they have AK which is unlikely because like we said , 39% chance for them to hit .
8 outs > 6 outs
lets try it out ok ? worked for me, how about you?

Just remember one thing , everytime you win with a hand that shouldnt win you are bending the laws of probability. Matrix
Grailer please get your sorry ass out of this thread and this forum.
Every post you make is so absurdly wrong and retarded it makes me wonder if you're a gimmick account acting as a retard or you're actually being serious. In any case i wish you would stfu about your useless nl4 bullshit hands and realize that for you to still be playing that limit you gotta have an IQ about the same is your VPIP, which should really keep you away from posting advice to other players.
If you think im wrong about you then I'll gladly play you heads up at whatever stakes you wish, to give you a chance to prove yourself.

a picture tells 1000 words ..nuff said
Anyways enough trash talking . Im going to answer the mans question.
AK isnt flip AK is drawing hand you have a 43% chance to win against under pair .
To play it correctly you raise and give yourself odds to call an all in
if you have $50 on table , someone raises $8 with QQ.. actual pot with implied odds would be $100 , so you must raise since the bet is 8% of the possible pot
So say you raise to $24 and they moved all in , pot would be $74 and $26 to call ... therefore you are getting good odds to call.
If they just called and you missed the flop the pot is $48 and you have $26 left .. if they move all in on flop pot is $74 and you have 26% chance to suck out an A or K on turn river , call because pot will be $100 and it cost you $26 ( 26% bingo ) to draw out.
If you are big stack well you can see that its easier to fold AK pre flop or you need to raise up alot more to make it profitable as a drawing hand
Anyways hopefully this helps and congratulations you have just learnt how to trap yourself with AK by manipulating the pot to turn a -EV hand into a +EV call .
Its great against short stack players .. Here is example hand
