My ex was full supportive of my poker & choice to pursue it as a career.
I wouldn't settle for anything less tbh, if someone either A. Is too stupid to understand how poker is a skill game or B. understands and doesn't support you unconditionally for whatever reason think about the long term here, unless you're planning to hit it and quit it what idiocy are you gonna see in the future?

comon, most people fall into the A category! they aren't stupid, just that they lack the understanding and aint inquisitive enough to find out more!

1. Most people fall under A because most people are stupid.
2. I think it's fair to class closed mindedness under stupidity or at the very least a really undesirable trait in a girl.
3. Lack of understanding means they have probably tried to understand and failed. Inability to understand is stupidity.
If you've sat her down and showed her with graphs, mathematics and the fact there are players who play on TV (surely this couldn't happen if there were no winning poker players?) and she still doesn't get it, you got dealt a shitty hand bro.
I don't think I could date anyone who can't comprehend basic reality like this. I guess it's kind of like an entry test that I shall apply for all future prospects.

Seriously though, elhh summed up my position perfectly.
We are getting seriously off topic now though, if poker is going to be any serious part of your life your partner has to be totally okay with it. What if you decide you want to go pro? I wouldn't be pushy about it though and give them the benefit of the doubt for a while until I've tried to explain a few times.
The only way in which I'd accept her disliking poker would be the ethical side which is simply a matter of opinion given that she fully understands how it is a skill game and a legitimate living. This is opposed to her simply not recognising it as more than gambling which is a matter of fact.
hehi agree with Terror however, only if you have explained it and everything and she still doesn't understand...
But i'd expect almost everyone to think poker is gambling if they haven't done some research into it..
