We're on the second break now, after this blinds will be up again to 150/300. Chip counts:

Here's how simon picked up most of his chips:
He opened A6, and got a caller (a ~40 year old guy, who has a miniature plastic toy American Flag and pole as his card protector). Board came Q 6 6 x x, simon bet pot three times and was called down by QK.

In level 1, he lost a big hand where all 3 players made a full house with three of a kind on the board. He raised JJ from UTG+2, MP1 (some guy he recognized as a finalist in the PCA) calls, another player squeezes to 1,300 and both called.

In the hand right after that, chessmasterD pulled off a 5-bet bluff against the PCA guy. UTG raised, chessmasterD 3-bet with 64s, PCA guy 4-bets and chessmasterD 5-bet bluffs and villain folds. He said that because villain just called down with KK in the last hand, villain's range is very polarized here. The danger with the move would be that villain is capable of 6-bet bluffing.
He also added that he tried to pull off a few 3-bet bluffs in level 1 but they didn't work. He then picked up some big cards in level 2 and managed to get paid thanks to his image.

Faraz Jaka, Vicky Coren and Jeff Madsen were all the famous names who were recently eliminated. David Williams had over 130k chips in level 2, but now is back down to 84k.

I've been told by the floor man that we have 2,319 players today. That means there are 4.9k players who have played in the WSOP 2010 Main Event already. We should easily go over 7k on Day 1D.
Some players were talking about how they were getting slow rolled by the TV cameras when i walked past a table with two players all in pre-flop AA vs KK. When there is an all in on the table, the dealer will announce "All in and a call on table xxx" and someone from the TV crew will come over to check out the action, if it is anything interesting, you are made to wait for the cameras to come over. Sometimes you are made to wait like 5 minutes before they show up. That's the ESPN Slowroll 
Before i go off for dinner, here are some interesting hands from our guys:
There was a big pot for chessmasterD at the start of the sixth hour in Day 1c. He raised from MP and got 3 caller. Flop came J:d 4:s J:s, 2 blinds check, he bets, one fold and the blinds call.
Turn A:s, SB bets 2k, BB gets out of the way, chessmasterD makes it 6k and villain calls. River 9:d, villain checks, chessmasterD makes it 12k, and villain calls again after tanking. (villain had chessmasterD covered, chessmasterD had around 20k behind). chessmasterD turned over Q:s 8:s for the flush, and villain gave a disgusted look and mucked.
He also won a coin flip against a short stacked Tyler Reiman with AK vs 99 after that.

For simon1989, his big stack came after getting the best of a villain who was on tilt. Villain had lost 3 pots in a row before that and had opened with a raise, simon flat called with JJ and it was heads-up.
Flop came 7 8 4 ♠:s (simon had no spade), villain c-bet and simon flat called again. Turn 9:s completing the flush, villain check, simon bet 2,000, villain made it 7,400 and simon went all in with villain having just another 8k behind, villain snap folded.
Just got back from the break. 3 more hours to play and blinds are now 150/300 with 25 ante.

Phil Hellmuth has just been eliminated from the Main Event on Day 1. He was giving an interview outside the Amazon room and was talking about how he is happy that he no longer gets really upset after being eliminated from tournament.

I guess he learned a lesson from last year and decided to play in 1C instead of 1D like last year. Just in case he gets capped out again.

Heres a hand from Simon. Simon raised the BU, BB (old guy) re-raised and Simon called. Flop 9:h 3:s 8:s. BB bets 3k and Simon calls. Turn A:s, BB bets 4k and Simon calls.
River T:h, BB bets 8k (he counts his remaining chips after the bet before putting in the 8k), Simon reads that as weakness and goes all in, BB pretty much instantly mucks. Simon turns over K:c 9:s.
In the hand before that, Simon made a nice double up against a young player. Villain raised from MP3 and Simon flat called with 76s from the button. Flop comes A T 6, both check.
Turn 6, villain bets, simon raises and villain calls. River 4, villain checks, Simon shoves his remaining stack in and villain tank calls with AK.
HenrikX eliminated a short stack but also almost doubled up himself. He turned the nut straight, with QK on a J 3 T A board, bet after being checked to and got one caller. River 9, he bet again, villain (old guy) tanks and goes all in, HenrikX calls and takes down the pot against villain's T 8.
Finally a hand with Patrik Antonius against a young internet player. The board was showing 6:s 2:d J:c 8:c on the turn and Antonius had put in a pot sized bet, villain tanked and called. River 5:s, Antonius bet pot again for about half of his remaining stack, and villain tank called again. Antonius showed 22 for flopped bottom set.

chessmasterD ran into a couple of setups late in the day, to take him down from a high of over 100k chips. Here are the two hands he told me about:
EP raised, and he called from the SB. Flop 8:s 7:s 7 , he checks, villain bets and he calls. Turn 6:s, both check. River Q, he bets 3,200 into a 5k pot, villain makes it 10,000 and he calls. He flipped over JJ but villain had KK.
In the next one, he raised KJo from Mp3, CO called and BB called. Flop J 5 4 with a flush draw, BB checked, he c-bets 2,000 into a 3.7k pot, CO folds and BB minraises to 4k. Turn 3, BB bets 3k and he calls. River 8 flush does not complete, BB checks, he bets 12k and BB calls showing AJ.

Today is the final day of for the WSOP Main Event signups. Entries are still accepted until before the start of level 3 (closes around 4.30 pm PST).
BongBob should be playing today, and i know of a few other strategists in Vegas who also have not played yet. They should also start today.

Saw vipa take down a nice ~13k pot just now Flop 9 x x ♣:c, vipa (SB) bets and villain (UTG) calls. Turn Q:c, vipa bets, UTG calls. River Q, vipa bets and UTG tanks and calls.
vipa turned over 9 9 for the flopped set and rivered full house.

We are now done with level 1 of Day 1D. By my estimates, there are around 2.5k players today, just a little more than yesterday.

After the break, it will be level 2, and blinds will be up to 100/200.

fabstinho took down a really huge pot early on and is the big stack on his table. It way an 8-way limped pot and fabstinho had 65o. Flop came 3 4 7 rainbow to give him the nuts. One guy donks, he raises, all fold and the original bettor snap calls.
Turn A:s giving a flush draw, villain checks, fabstinho makes it 2.4k, villain raises to 7k and fabstinho goes all in. Villain calls and flips over A 4. the river bricks and fabstinho took down something like 500 big blinds.
His table got a little tougher after Justin Smith sat down two seats to his right, but there was are still plenty of weak spots. Take this for example:
