Great played HenrikX. Me and the whole Swedish Community is so proud of you! You have done what none of us have never done before, you broke a record, you exceeded any expectations. I think we got ourselves a guy with a talent for poker.

Good job, now get back and make more MTT-videos! :P

Cheers, Joakim

Absolutely awesome run Henrikx, many congrats from the English community.

Thankyou Edwin.
Awesome coverage and was great meeting you and fellow Ps.com Members.

A message from HenrikX, for those of you who are interested (I know all of you are!):

"Wow! Sick game.

Thank you so much for all the support, guys! Congratulations to all Pokerstrategists making the money, gg wd. Thanks elhh82 for doing an amazing job on the field (thanks for counting my chips when needed too). It's been a real pleasure hanging out with you. That goes for all PS members I met up with.

Allright, I have read your reactions on checking behind the river with A2 Day 6 so I figured I could give some thoughts on it. It's really an interesting spot.

As Edwin stated I figured my only two real options was to check or shove there (not totally sure but I think both mine and Villains stack sizes were just quite bigger than the pot). I think giving you a brief history on my poker background might give you a clue why I made that [decision].

Well, I have pretty much only played SNGs and MTTs up until now (cash games only for the amusement ever once in a while). And in general I think good cash game players are alot better than me in extracting the maximum value postflop (in short-term hand-for-hand perspective). With that said I'm not sure that maximizing value in every single hand is what you want to do in a MTT. In my opinion survival and loss minimizing are alot more important in MTTs. So my MTT gameplan pretty much goes: LAG/Maniac preflop Brunson supernit postflop (which works out fine with my SNG background).

345KT

Allright, sitting there I had to put Villain on a blind defensing call range. 67 is definately there, some guys does it with 62 too (guilty as charged). Pretty sure not this guy though. A set doesn't make sense with the postflop action because he pretty much has to raise for value/defence every time (alot of aces in my range, giving me a gutshot). I don't think I have to mention that I would have instashoved if he raised me on the flop or turn. AK is a preflop 3bet, KQ make some sense, but I don't think he float that flop.

So my guess is 67 or busted flush draw. An instant check OOP with nuts is pretty strange, but you never know. No real value in making him folding a busted draw right? Well, one could argue that it somehow is. First of all, I can muck my hand and keep my opponents guess about my range. Furthermore, a shove goes well with my maniac image. A shove on the river could also help you in later hands getting cheap showdowns (because of your image).

In conclusion, I'm not sure I made the right move there.

Sorry for the essay guys, but my head is just full of poker right now. That's all. Good luck on the tables."

vs a competent player he never has a nutted hand like straights etc on the river because they will always get it in against you on the turn... because of the drawheavy nature of the board. as a result u have the nuts

w/e though. very nice score .

If you have slightly over pot that doesnt mean you have to shove or check, you can still put a 1/4th valuebet in to get value from any king (depends ofc on your opponent but not a lot of people will bluffraise there for their tournament life)

But anyways, awesome achievement :)

Thanks for the answers, you both make good points.

Villain was definately a good solid player. Probably not one of the best on this table. No funky moves, pretty straight forward.

With the nuts I guess your right about getting in on the turn (defending against possible flush draws in my range etc).

I actually remembered it wrong, it was 345TK (I guess my memory isn't what it should be). So KQo dosen't make sense anymore.

Betting small on the river IP is definately an option. But the only busted draws that still has some equity are AhTh/KhQh/KhJh.

I usually don't make small valuebets like that (with these stack sizes) for a couple of reasons, it's simply not in my betting pattern. If I did I guess I have to make them with weaker hands too. On the other hand, you can't really talk about sample size in one single tournament (and noone knew anything about me back there).

But let's say I did bet small there and Villain goes over the top, I'm definately snapcalling. I'm simply never folding this hand. But obviously checking behind for some reason

Just came in here to congratulate you on an amazing run :) Been following it since Day 1 and to be in contact with someone who did so well in WSOP ME is quite an honour :) Definately gives me inspiration.

Thanks Wriggers, appreciate it.

Sure, I ran good. That doesn't mean that I look at myself as one of the top100 in the world. I'm most certainly not. Running good in a MTT is a combination of luck and skill, and I guess the best advice is to put your chips in the middle with fold equity.

Good luck on the tables, everyone.

I think you should have pushed aswell, especially given the tendencies of the players later on in the tournament. It looked like nobody was gonna play the nuts tricky enough to lose tons of value and look "stupid" on the showdown. If he has you beat there he will raise the flop/turn like 95% of the time which makes your bet kind of a freeroll and given that he will fold often you also save some info on your 3barreling range. My style is a bit the same as yours, even though I have tightened up preflop lately, but letting people fold to the 3rd barrel is something they do not like to do against such a "maniac", and if you do it a few times they will definitely think you have air in your range even if you will never have air.

I can understand the check behind a bit, but given the situation etc I'd definitely 3barrel :)

Thanks for the answer, Yoghi. Awsome run in the Main Event, hope to see you there next year.

Totally agree there. I mean, anyone could figure out that the river is the worst possible spot for a stack sized stone bluff. But from my experience it works out often enough to value shove there. Unfortunately I never got called off this time though.
