I watched. Not really into your kind of festivals hehe
I'm more of a dancer
Omaha is such a messed up game, been giving it a real go the last few days but it just doesnt work out for me so far.. Ive lost tons at PLO25 lol
Sure, running below EV, but my range estimations are completely off in several spots I feel...
Something thats been bothering me especially lately is worrying about small sets. If you play against a reg-looking player, something like 24/20, and he flats in the blinds or on the button... do I have to worry about him having 44xx on KT4ss when he raises me??
Ive been taught that people dont have small pockets in their range often, but it has definately backfired in several spots lately
Wow I'm beat up, been a pretty busy weekend. Party on friday and saturday, home around 4am those days with not much sleep (not gonna start sleeping late again and screw up my sleeping rythm + stuff to do during days..)
Today I went to a show called "La Clique" which was totally awesome. I think it is the best show/concert/thingyoubuytickettosee I've ever seen, so definately definately go see them if they come to your town. Superentertaining
Wow it's hard to get to play HU on FTP, Ive sat down with 5 people in a row who quit me within FIVE hands. I did get action with the 6th but he was superboring to play, played slow, never flatted his big blind and just played really weak... took about 50bb from him by aggression before leaving after about 150 hands. Time to play more plo instead

So to you 60-90k hands per month is enough to combat the variance in NL100? How many buyins would you suggest to have on NL100-200 if playing for main income? What do you think is a sustainable winrate on NL100 in fr? And sh?
I'm not really going to go pro right now, I mean I'm just playing NL50 and being a fish, it's a long way to go. But in future though, something like next summer I've been planning on supporting myself with just poker income. I've also been searching for a coach with reasonable prices and you seem to be the one to go for.
Btw, do you coach rush?
I think that if you plan to be a small stakes pro how much you play per month should be dictated by... how much money you want to make, and how much time you want for other stuff
I know, I know, that's a lame answer - I just personally am a little more interested in the time for other stuff than the money I guess ![]()
As a more solid answer, I think if you play 60-90k hands winning (not going into it as a b/e player and improving slowly along the way) you will do just fine.
In the end, I think it just comes down to you finding a schedule you feel comfortable with wheither it be 4, 6 or 8 hours of play a day (wouldnt recommend less than 4 :P), and then going with it without thinking that much about how many hands it will total in a month - remember that any regrets of too low, or too high (burnout) volume will lead to tilt ![]()
Buyinwise, I like to have the rule that I need to be able to handle a 25 buyin downswing without having to drop down (even though I might drop down anyway for a while, thats another question altogether). That means somewhere around 70 buyins?
This is just my personal preference though, BRM is very personal, but just make sure youre in no risk of like starvation or something ![]()
Sustainable winrate.... uhh, I don't really know honestly. Look up some high volume big winner samples on PTR
I think usually those who could beat small stakes "maximally", would be moving up before they play enough hands to prove their high winrates, so it's really hard to say. Just strive to improve, and then play your best in all situations and you will see your reward ![]()
I'm glad you're considering some coaching!
Regarding rush, I don't have a lot of experience with it myself as a main game, and I think one of my bigger strengths is adaption. That said, since HUDs now work with rush I don't see it being that big a difference to normal games anymore (feel free to disagree), so I would say that yes I can coach rush if you want me to despite being somewhat inexperienced with it
ok i have a few questions for u:
1)Do u always run the same trail/ same distance?
I also feel running improves your overal wellbeing and is a nice break from poker.
2) Do u have ambitions to move to higher limits, ie:nl400+?
3)I realize you meantoined Tommy Angelo's mindfullness idea. Did you watch the five steps to poker enlightenment and did it help you as a player?
4)Did you include studying the game in your poker schedule?
5) Did you always play a 2hour session regardless of results?
ie: If u lost or won 10BI in the first hour, would u quit?
6)What would be your advice for a poker player who was experiencing tilt?
7)Was/Is Rakeback a significant part of your hourly income (ie>50%)?
8)When you lived at home, were your parents fine with the fact that u were a "poker pro"?
sorry but i got a few more questions
1)U said u started as a pro playing nl50hu, have u played any hu recently?
2) would u be willing to coach me at nl50hu and for how much would it cost?

Pretty much yeah, I increased the distance a few times cause it got too short. Haven't ran for a long time now though cause Im just constantly ill ![]()
2) Do u have ambitions to move to higher limits, ie:nl400+?
Yes, definately. Lately when I moved to a new apartment Ive had to cash out a bit more than usual, for furniture and stuff, so I'm hanging around on 100 for a while. I'm moving up with a nitty brm though, as you might imagine I would feel kinda bad losing a third of my BR or something like that on a shot.
Most importantly though I'm looking to have a really solid big sample of winning big-ish on NL100 before I move up (instead of moving up on low winrate+high rakeback money), which I'm pretty well on the way of having ![]()
3)I realize you meantoined Tommy Angelo's mindfullness idea. Did you watch the five steps to poker enlightenment and did it help you as a player?
Eightfold path to poker enlightenment, yeah. The idea of mindfulness did help me as a player by identifying my own feelings at the table. Also, cliché as it may sound, it's not a bad idea to be mindful in everything you do in life either. I would recommend everyone to listen to the series (it was better the 2nd time I listened to it btw)
4)Did you include studying the game in your poker schedule?
Hmm no not really, but I usually end up doing it (my hand analysis) before my first session in the morning, and watching vids I might do pretty much anytime.
5) Did you always play a 2hour session regardless of results?
Well, yeah, but I never forced myself to play the full 2 hours if I was tilting or really didnt want to for some reason. I just havent tilted that badly in a while so I havent cut the sessions short lately.
6)What would be your advice for a poker player who was experiencing tilt?
Identify what exactly is tilting you (by being mindful), then make sure you understand it... what I mean is, if youre going on tilt due to variance, you have to logically understand that variance can work this way. If it is because you are tired, try to see why you are tired and work on improving that.
For me, experience and logic is my biggest strengths against tilting - it's kind of simple, the more you play and go through downswings, the less they will hurt the next time around
Just make sure you don't go busto on your first ones ![]()
7)Was/Is Rakeback a significant part of your hourly income (ie>50%)?
My first 100k hands on FTP where I (stupidly) played too many tables, that was pretty much only rakeback. This was a very very bad idea though
I have very good rakeback (50% or so) on ongame, I would guess that rb is around 35-40% of my hourly, Im not sure though
8)When you lived at home, were your parents fine with the fact that u were a "poker pro"?
Yeah, they were fine with it.
sorry but i got a few more questions
No probs at all
1)U said u started as a pro playing nl50hu, have u played any hu recently?
Ever since I started playing nl100SH, HU has just been something I play a little of when I feel like it. I have played a bit of HU recently, but no volume to speak of (probably only have like 30-35k hands total of HU play).
2) would u be willing to coach me at nl50hu and for how much would it cost?
Well, as I said, I'm no superexperienced HU player by any means, and winning over 30k hands means very little in HU play.
I would certainly be willing to coach you (for the standard $50/h $220/5h), but only if you aware my strength wouldn't be in lots of experience with HU play, but more in strong fundamentals (important for FPSy HU players :P) and teaching experience.

smth for me ♦ but I lvoe my lines ♦ confusuion FTW ♦
IMO if u would coach him HU u should reduce the fee to 40/h at least IMO
