NL Holdem $0.25(BB) Replayer
SB ($38.50)
BB ($48.14)
UTG ($26.02)
Hero ($38.22)
CO ($25.67)
BTN ($20.37) (vpip/pfr/wtsd 61/17/17 sample ~90 hands)

Dealt to Hero K♦ J♥

fold, Hero raises to $0.75, fold, BTN calls $0.75, fold, fold

FLOP ($1.85) 8♠ 7♣ K♠

Hero bets $1.22, BTN calls $1.22

TURN ($4.29) 8♠ 7♣ K♠ 8♣

Hero bets $2.40, BTN calls $2.40

RIVER ($9.09) 8♠ 7♣ K♠ 8♣ 7♦

Hero bets $5, BTN raises to $16 (AI), Hero folds

BTN wins $18.14

He did have high vpip, but haven't seen him go to showdown with complete air...thought he probably had 8 or 7. Was it an OK fold? Should I just check the river?

ch-call also ok, all draws busted

I'd bet bigger on the flop and turn. Board is very coordinated and there's quite a bit of value to be gained.

If he is an aggro fish (which might be true because of his low WTSD) then you can check the river and induce a bluff. I believe it's really important to look at how he has played other rivers over this decent sample size. What he value bet or bluffed before. If he is very aggro, bet/calling is fine as well (bet to induce a raise from worse).

+1
since I don´t think he would bluffshove river that often I´d prefer c/c
He should have there enough worse hands that he may turn into bluff or bet with busted draws
