Not sure that font meant that in 1976. I suspect it was misappropriated by crappy bands like Saxon in the 80s. Richie Blackmore is famously medieval obsessed.
Don't know how this guy escaped my attention. He's played with McGlaughlin, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny (see vid), Herbie Hancock and even James Brown. Anyway I downloaded his triple live album Live At Tonic and it really blew me away, the guy can seriously play.

Sorry chaps. Issues with the string connecting my computer box thingamy to the Interwebz multi.. erm.. connection bigger box thingamy (which legend suggests is located in Kiribati).
Apparently they're sending a boy scout around to do some half hitches and reconnect everything. He's waiting for the clown fish to arrive from the islands with the other end of the string though so it could be another few days.

Firstly, kudos on stuffing the Aussies. Fortunately with Andy Flower as coach your lads shouldn't go too far off beam before the job is done. Anyone else as coach and I think there could be a complacency issue!
Secondly, I'll have to work pretty hard to add something relevant to the thread as Prog + Fusion has been off the radar for me. I don't know of any NZ bands that even come close to adding to these genres. Outside that, maybe David Bowies Black Tie, White Noise -> Earthling is about as close as I come (oh, and pretty much anything by Led Zep 
).

Found my favourite Christian McBride track "Sonic Tonic", skip to 01:05 to get past the talking. Any bassist has to listen to this, if it was just the intro alone (up to 02:35) I would love it ! But then it goes into an insanely chilled, soulful groove with some nice wah / hammondy sounds from the guitar & keys. Might be a little too jazz and not enough fusion for this thread but everytime it comes on I can't feel anything but pure joy so here it is !

love it! the drums make it quite fusiony. very smooth bass-line as well.

Talking of Allan Holdsworth, I went to see him at a venue in Manchester called Band On The Wall last year, amazing night. Anyway the same venue is putting Mike Stern on in March so I'm going to give it a whirl. Not really familiar with his stuff but found this on youtube and am looking forward to it now !
