hey patszerdonk thanks for the tips, and you are totally right it is something wrong with my game and i'm sure it's my postflop play.

i've been playing 6 tables because i feel the most comfortable on that number and it keeps me busy but maybe i will drop down to 4 now that i'm reviewing myself lol.

i havent yet started to use equilab, so maybe i will start now

i use elephant HUD on the beginner setting cos i can't figure out what the numbers are on the expert setting - made another thread but no one has explained it yet...

and i use the hand analysis section regularly..

its pretty disappointing because i thought i was getting the hang of it but maybe not. i think it's a combination of factors like i tilt fairly easily now but i always acknowledge it and often stop playing. another problem is i've been results oriented so that's changing now and i'll be focusing on imrpoving. some days i might make like $7, but then i'll go 3 days playing about 1500h each and ending up in the negative again so it feels like 1 step forward 2 steps back. i know i can build up with MSS but i want to play BSS. im refusing to play until i've read over all of the articles again lol

keoghh thats good keep going! maybe once i've sorted my act out we can get going with this race lol

about HUD:
I suggest you to use expert setting, because it's more useful. It's not hard to learn. Just use the glossary page if you want to know the definition of term used.

At the beginning, I suggest you to use the default setting, and then you can add/change it one by one according to your preference.
I myself use this stats:
for preflop: VPIP, PFR, ORL, 3bet, fold 3bet, hand count
for postflop: cbet flop, fold cbet flop, cbet turn, fold cbet turn.

There is a file which explain about the definition of the stats, though it's not complete. The file in pdf named "Elephant Value Analysis" but I dont remember where I download it. I'll send it to you if you want.

Hopefully you 3 decide to turn your competition into a blog. I would gladly follow it. You seem to have a good attitude and interesting interactions. Hopefully you will. Good luck.

cheers dude i had a fiddle about with my HUD and realised it's relatively easy to understand  anyways i used mostly your settings (changed a few of the postflop ones) but once i get used to using the expert i will jiggle it about a bit more. thanks again :)

Well, I had similar problems when switching from SSS (you can read everything, starting from NL2 in my blog), but you just keep reading articles, stick to the starting hand charts and success will come :f_cool:

The thing is, if you keep playing only with good opening hands, then you will be a favourite later most of the time anyways :f_cool:

Another thing - PEOPLE DON'T BLUFF AT THOSE LIMITS!!! If you have AA on a dry board and someone attacks you like crazy, then HE HAS A SET, NOT AK, QQ, or KK! So, learn to fold high overpairs and you will save a lot of big losing pots.

i may have been doing something stupid.... say i'm preflop with AQ and there are 3 limpers... should i raise it up and get involved or should i just fold because there is more than 1 limper? the SHC only covers if one player calls (limps) and i've been assuming that i shouldn't really want to get involved unless there are minimal limpers... i know the more limpers there are the stronger your hand should be but surely if you punish the limpers most will fold anyway? i feel like i may be losing a lot of value with hands like this...

also i only 3-bet with AA, KK, QQ and AK... back when i was following MSS and turning a (small) profit i was following the 3-betting chart and it worked out fine..... could it be a good idea to follow that 3-betting chart while playing BSS? just as a guide maybe... obviously i wouldn't end up all in with AK or QQ and below..
