I saw only 1 Big problem. Your mother being in hospital. Next you knew that there are not 100% protection and you risked it, and dog is only animal. And with that Grandpa wife, i believe she is right to choose what she want to do with his body.

Having a child you're not prepared to have is nothing huh? It's easy to talk big when you don't have these problems.

time to take responsibility for your actions. not look to drinking and smoking and poker and complaining. Get a job and toughen the fuck up. its not about you anymore. its about the kid.

Your writing style and your written content is redolent of the many 419 Advance Fee Fraud scam emails that originate from West Africa; which has me questioning your authenticity. You state that you are attending university yet the quality of your written English is comparable to that of an ill-educated 12-year-old infant. What kind of qualifications does one need to gain entry to the University you attend?

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but everything I have read of yours just seems to smack of scammer. Perhaps I am being cynical because I feel so “depressed” — induced I might add by the lamentable drivel I have had the misfortune to read throughout this thread.

Grow up!

really? what if english isn„t my first language....also not studyng at uni in english and.....not scaming. Just asked for some friendly advices...if its not on your like gtfo! ty

I think people missed the point of my post, and misread it completely too. First off, we did use protection and I didn't mention that we had no idea until one day she began to be sick, and I felt noone needed to know as I already explained I used protection so neither of us acted irresponsible.

Furthermore, my girlfriend decided that she felt she would be killing a living thing so although I hoped that she didn't want it, I agreed that I'd have to stick by her decision.

So yeah, I turned to drinking and smoking for a few short months as I'd turned depressed with everything going on, and it may be easy for those who don't have depression to say man up, but your thought process is a lot different in that state and I broke out of the cycle, so what's the issue?

Someone said it's stupid to turn to poker, and if you read properly you can see that beginning 2008 when I created an account here I haven't returned until recently in the last week because of the situation being better now.

Again it's easy to say that my dog was just an animal because obviously they have no emotional connection at all.

About the wife keeping the ashes and being right to do what she wishes, you are very arrogant and obviously need growing up.

His last wife, was only with him for a few years, she was put into a mental institution on several occasions, and was the reason my grandad had to go bankrupt after playing around with his paperwork and causing him to have a lot of debt.

His wife (who had to take medication herself) was allowed to administer his medication when she herself refused to take her own a lot of the time at the cost of going mental (somethings wrong with the system in the UK).

The family argument came when it came to putting him into a home where he would be better treated and watched properly (something his wife couldn't do).

Once she did finally agree to put him in a home, she often allowed noone to see or touch him, and forced him to stay in bed a lot.

So for a wife who he only knew a few years, and he'd of never loved as much as his previous wife (something he told me himself), I don't think that her having rights to the plot where my nan is buried (and not giving it to us), and not berrying my grandad next to my grandma is more a spiteful move rather than something else.

These things own there own didn't depress and stress me, but rather the whole cluster of things in such a small amount of time.

The point was to show OP that in comparison he doesn't have it so bad, and that it can be much worth (a lot worth than my situation too), and yet still I've manage to make something of it now and have a family and a home of our own with a good income and the ability to play poker with no risk.

Someone said it's all about the kid and I should man up? That's exactly what I did and the baby (who's a girl btw :) love her to bits), has and will be put first.

The whole point is to show that you can still make the best of the situation, and that the problem the OP has is really not an issue with his parents, but an issue hes creating when it doesn't need to be.

Hope that clears it up

There are 7 billion people on the planet.
One of them, is the worst off of all of them -- OK, it might be a tie.
I know it isn't me. Or you, for that matter.
Strange thing is, even for that poor guy, there will be someone of whom he says, "Gee, I'm sure glad I'm not THAT bad".

Of that 7 billion, one of them is the BEST off of all of them.
It is not Donald Trump, although he may pretend so.
Strange thing is, the best-off person in the world doesn't think that it is him either -- everyone has something to complain about.
So...
It might be me. Or you

I'm serious. All things considered -- 4 limbs, all 5 senses working, no mental deficiencies, adequate food etc. Life is pretty good.

Recognize that everything you do, you do by choice.
Make well-reasoned choices and take responsibility for them.
Find enjoyment where you can -- preferably in reality somewhere.

if life was so good all the time it would not be life . Life is like poker in someways with strategy n decisions you have to make . is this not true :) .

If you have seen neither black not grey, white would become tiresome in the extreme. It has been said that we only enjoy life only to the extent to which we have suffered.

Everyone can think of someone who has had it easy all their life, and some minor "tragedy" sets them on their heels. Those who have suffered greatly take those same things in stride. You don't sweat hangnails when you've lost a finger.

When each tragedy strikes, we compare it to the worst thing that has ever happened -- if it isn't so bad, we shrug it off, 'cuz after all, "we've been through worse". Each time something happens that is the worst thing that has ever happened to us, we behave is a predictable way. We wail, moan and curse. We then either collapse, or get stronger. Your choice. Every seen a happy guy in a wheelchair? Yeah, you know what I mean.

Same as in poker. The minor bad beats and downswings that seemed devastating when we first started are nothing now, but the next time a downswing comes along that measures up to being "the worst downswing in my career", we will behave exactly the same way. Then we'll get over it. Or quit. Your choice.

I always am thankful for what I have even when it is not much and try to better my life. You need to have goals and targets of what you want for the future, there is always room to improve.

When something go wrong in life , I (at least try to) see it as variance and once it has happen, there is often not much you can do about it. And feeling bad about it won't help either. The best I think is getting back on your feet and judge the situation and act for the best for the present with the future in mind.

just my 2c

Better said how were my last 6 real life months? Extremely fucked. Not cool. Dont know when i ll finish but i m trying hard to deal with. Now...depresed...ZZzZzz...

Don't be depressed. It's only a waste of time.
You're limited only by your mind.

I should be depressed.
I spent 25 years of my life in country that I always hated and when I finally reached my goals - that fuc***s just took it from me.
But I'm not. Why?

Because I've got a goal to reach and I'm still alive. I just can to try it again!
And I'll do it....or I'll die trying to!

Depression is only for a weak ppl or empty ppl wo goals in their life.

But in life like in poker.....Everything is possible!
Even a win with 27o vs AA :f_cool:

I'm depressed only after heavy drinking - I hate myself that I drank too much

I don't think your parents are the issue, and you most probably need to seek help if such things get you down and depressed so easy. You may have insufficient serotonin levels and thus find it hard to find a happy mood.

Let me give you something actually worth being depressed about, let's dig deep into my life over the last 3 years shall we:

It all starts in 2008 when I headed off to UNI. All is well, and studies are going fine. Christmas comes, how harmful can it be? Let's enjoy the holiday and return back to UNI. But that didn't happen, on Christmas night my mother got rushed into hospital after an attack in her gaul bladder (however you spell it). The operation was a success, unfortunately the cleanlyness in the hospitals aren't all that great and a nasty bug let loose in her chest meaning she needed to be rushed to ITU (intensive care unit). A place where people usually do not come out alive a lot of the time.

Following the already bad news, due to struggle with breathing she was put into forced coma for several months, and one of my last words were "are you going to be alright?" Which followed by a shake of the head not knowing what was going to happen. Have you had the misfortune of having to ask your mother that question?

I spent New years eve and day in a hospital with my mum in a coma, how did you spend your 2008 New years?

That lasted 4 months of which became a rollercoaster ride with ups and downs. Fortunately, she came out alive, but with severe damage to her chest, being told that getting a bug could have worse consequences to her than your average person.

This meant I failed a year of uni, and fell into much more debt.

No worries, moving on, let's try again the next year at uni shall we?

Year 2009, start of a new course, fresh start, how bad could it be?

Met my girlfriend, one night of sex (we were using protection), the condom split, she ended up pregnant which led to a very angry and confused me, which turned to drinking and smoking.

I wasted my money on booze, cigs, and took out loans for shit I didn't even need because my mind wasn't in the right place.

Following that I had huge complications with my girlfriend which almost ended our relationship in many occassions.

From that stress of all this, I developed a chest problem and a huge mental issue with anxiety that to this day I still struggle with.

The year of 2009 and 2010 carried on terribly with me and my girlfriend often taking breaks apart of up to 1 month. At one point she kicked me back out to my parents and I didn't see her for a month and a half. She was only able to kick me out because all the other tenants decided to let me stay but my name wouldn't be on the tenancy agreement so they would all have leverage on me should they choose to want me out (bad move).

Towards the end of 2010, things cleared up, my girlfriend had the baby and things between us started to get good again. She moved into my parents house and they decided to provide a home for us whilst we sorted our own home.

Anyway as I thought things were getting good, my dog of 12 years developed a lot of tumours an we were left with the only decision of putting her down. I wont forget the way she looked before she was put down. I couldn't go in a watch it happen, my parents did instead.

I know it's just a dog, but even an animal you've had for almost as long as you know your family is very hard to take. Adding to that, my grandad who was still in his 60's developed alzheimer's and quickly deteriorated and not long after passed away. To add to the trouble, his crazy second wife (not my grandma) decided that because she was angry with us that she would not allow my grandads daughters and son (my mum, auntie and uncle) to bury his ashes next to our grandma, and instead is deciding to do what she wants with them.

Another big blow to this family.

Yet still, I've come out with a family, in my own house, earning a healthy wage and with the possibility and support of my girlfriend to play poker.

And your angry because your parents wont give you any money? I went into debt of over 20 k, trust me, handling money without experience is not always a great thing.

You should feel fortunate.

Respect.

Life does truly suck, however life still beats all know alternatives.

If you're in a situation you don't like and it's depressing you, you have a choice: you can change the situation. If you can't change the situation then change the way you feel about it. Moaning faced wimp. You have no reason to be depressed. Try some some really hard shit like living every day of your life not knowing when or from where your next meal is coming.

Evertonroar is right "toughen the fuck up!"

Great way to put a downer on life guys - FFS in retrospect I think most posters here will look at their opinions and cringe "life sucks" "life's a bitch" etc etc. Are you serious?!

When I was a student there was plenty of times I was broke and my parents did not send me money etc. I remember worrying how can I go on a date with a girl if I don't have money for a F%^&* cup of tea!? I eneded up doing old fashioned romantic things the parks, the woods, we'd go to a student music hall and play music or whatever.

I firmly believe life is what you make of it and the whole 'not having money' thing is clearly demoralising but it's not the end of the world.

How ridiculous would this sound to people worried about their next meal or a roof over their heads who do not even have basic 'privalge' to read these posts about how much your life sucks because you have to live with your parents, go to a uni you'd rather not and want to be a Poker pro?

Sorry at first I thought trying motivating you was the best way, but now I just think you need to be told straight;

STOP feeling sorry for yourself and do something about your problems!

And NightFrostaSS, how are you helping him by whining about how life only gets worse?! Are you kidding me? Those bad experiences are only there to help us appreciate the good times and imo good moments ARE NOT few and far between. If you can't feel happiness at least once a day perhaps you should see some medical help?

Thanks.

U show some good insight there AKM! I have had Nightfrost's signature ecoing in my head many times recently (knew it b4 I saw it). It's crap ur low right now Cojonel. Telling about it is good; u get reactions and encouragement and u can then see it in a new light. Ofc lots and lots of people have it much worse, but it's still good to 'whine' sometimes. I think about those who knows they probably won't eat or drink again, get a roof over their heads or will soon lose those they love the most. Then I notice: wow, I have a gr8 apartment (to me it is) and there's even food in it! WOW!!! If u put it in that perspective (the right one) we really should dance and shout for joy! Yea? Yup! Anyway, hope it'll work out for you.

I also like your input Thazar! Actually these are so simple truths! And easy to miss sometimes. When I was low last weeks I used to tell those who asked how I feel: 'It's shit, but I just keep going". Not much of a choice.

Man, this was so good it's worth repeating:
