This guy was pretty much an unknown, but I had some 50 hands in which he was 13/0/0.0 (VPIP/PFR/AF). A maniac doesn't stay for 50 hands like this... so I thought he might be just a tight-passive guy.

CO was the table maniac and I raised pot hopping he would call with trash like top pair or a dominated draw. When just SB calls I thought he might have a worse straight.

He calls the turn and I think he has a set and is getting stubborn with it. Then the river double pairs and he instantly pots it...

OK fold? I know... "the odds" this and that... a call is profitable... but this guy was a shadow on the table until this happened.. so that's what I took in consideration.

Looks fine to me. :f_biggrin:

I don't think a call is that profitable here at all. Sure, sometimes your opponent is trying to get you off the best hand but the guy played it exactly like a set.

I think it's absolutely fine to fold in this spot, and I think I do the same here. Anyone who calls a bet and a raise cold on the flop clearly has something, and the only thing they can possibly have on this flop is a set since there is no flush draw showing.

Good fold imo. _cool:

Wow I was ready for something like "you still had 3:1 odds and given the pot size this, this and that and so forth..."

I actually was so pissed for being outdrawn that I didn't even think of it as a good fold. Mindset issues that I have, you see. _confused:
