Hey there, a simple question that has been bothering me - If a player calls bet/raise on the river and the other player mucks, is he obligated to show his cards?
There is an opinion, if I fold my cards in that spot, I play the board, so the other player has to show, otherwise he plays the board aswell. Is this true or he can just muck it after you?

Just to make sure I get this right:
only 2 players are in the pot, one player bets and the other folds... right?
in that case none of the players are obligated to show their cards.

No, I think what OP means is that:
player1 bets (or raises) on the river,
player2 calls,
player1 mucks his hand.
In my opinion player2 doesn't have to show. I'm not live player though so I'm not sure.

If there was betting on the river, the last player to bet or raise has to show first, and then the second player may choose to muck if he is beat, or has to show if he has a better hand.

Why? What if he has absolutely nothing and there is no way he wins a hand? Whats the point in showing 7 high?
So, when player 1 mucks a bluffing hand, is the other player obligated to show his?

No. If a player folds, the other player automaticaly wins the hand, so he does not have to show his cards.
I know dealers in poker clubs in London who, if the last agressor chooses to muck(general superstitions, like saying "seven high" without showing), they require the winning hand to show, not satisfied with a call of "Flush" by the second player.
But in general, last agressor shows, whether it's a hand that can win or not.

Someone called him to see his hand and he is obligated to show it, whether it's a bluff or the nuts, no discussion.

when 2 players get to showdown and players still have chips behind (ex. last bet is made on flop/turn and turn/river goes ch/ch ) or last bet is made on river *, player who act last (bet last) got to show his hand first.
If he mucks his hand:
- if they r playing tournament other player MUST show his hand -> due possibilities of collusion and dumping chips
- in cash game if one player mucks other player doesn't need to show his hand, he can also muck too and take the pot
* when final bet is made before river (all in) in some cash game u can keep your cards face down and just muck it on river if you dont want to show your hand but in tournaments if u r all in and there r still cards to came both players must show their hole cards.
also in some casinos there is ruling that player can show 2 or 0 cards so if he shows 1 card he got to show other card too.

I haven't played too much live poker, but I've yet to see anyone calling and then not showing his hand when the opponent mucks. Why would anyone do that, lol (because, I believe, that your idea, where both players muck and are playing the board and therefore splitting the pot, is right)? Btw, if the caller wants, he is able to ask the dealer to show the hand of the guy that mucked (I believe it's considered bad etiquette).
De Wolfe didn't show both of his hole cards, in some games I've played, that is an instant pass (I know, stupid), and he then mucked his hand, which makes it dead.
