sorry, but this made me chuckle too :f_biggrin:

On a serious note, can I have both HM1 and HM2 installed and run at same time? (ofc, HM2 Beta for now)

You can chuckle all you want, but now ( I guess todays Windows Update is the one to blame) even "high quality" HM1 is not working anymore! :f_cry: For some reason "low quality" PT3 is working just fine.

And please don't misunderstand me - I find HM1 to be a better program for playing poker because of its better HUD and popups, filters, apps and other things, but it IS NOT A QUALITY software. It looks and feels like done by IT undergraduate on a hungover day! They should be ashamed to ask money for that if we go by how finished the product is. I use it only because I need its features.

Cmon, I bought HM1 like 2 month ago and default popup was still showing "doh" where the Fold to 4Bet % should be! It was only fixed few weeks ago!! And how long is HM1 out for!?? 2,3 years? more? It took them al that time to fix a bug that takes less than 15 secs to fix for a proper programmer!?

Go into any blog and compare how graphs look like. HEM cant even draw a clean line!

QUALITY MY ASS! :f_biggrin: You are just biased, thats all... most of poker community is, because they have only tried one tracking software.

About your question:

I remember reading in HM2 forum somewhere that you can run HM1 and HM2 at the same time, however when I installed HM2, first thing it asked was to close HM1, so I guess you CANNOT.

oh well, that's fine, at least it won't ask to uninstall/upgrade HM1 to HM2.

And well, i haven't run into any bugs in HM1 and it's just much better than PT3(i tried both)

No, it wont require an upgrade. They will support HM1 along with HM2, they will just stop upgrading it.

As for bugs... bugs are the part of every software. There is no software without bugs. :f_cool:

As for HM1... In two months I have encountered quite a few actually:

- their database management sucks totally (PT3 is waaaay ahead)
- constant problems with Postgres ( I had to do System restore today on my comp just to make HM1 work, because latest Windows Update made HM1 unable to connect to database). No problems with PT3 there
- won cash numbers dont match on HUD, table manager and graphs (minor differences but still...)
- hand histories keep dissapearing with pots where villain goes AI, loses, and quits table
- HUD doesnt adjust when FR goes shorthanded or when you start shorthanded with free seats (have to do it manually on Boss media all the time)

... not to mention the overall shit looks. I know, they are minor things, but when you buy the car, you expect it to be painted nicely, dont you? Even though it does not affect the speed, performance of comfort in any way, right? :f_cool: If you look at the interface of HM, there are places where text does not fit onto buttons, ffs! Thats not how finished software should look like! _evil:

You can, works for me ... You just have to start HM1 first and then HM2, won't work the other way around

Not to start a debate about it, but frankly, I never understood why anyone would use HM over PT3. I mean even the latest HM1 is like a beta version.
Aynway, I hope HM2 will be awesome just so ppl who got used to HM1 won't need to change to PT3

Well it definitely DOES NOT work for me. Just tried it one more time just to be sure.

I can tell you why:

Filters and very convenient HUD popups. Thats it. But its a major difference, because to get the same info from PT3 in-game I have to make 2-3 mouse clicks instead of just moeseover on HM.

Then again, probably if you really try you could design your own popups and get the same result.

I used HEM2 since beta testing started. What can i say - it sucks. Crashing all the time, very slow not working like it should with Ongame and Pacific, buggy buggy buggy.
I wouldn't upgrade it from HEM1 if i have to pay full price.

+1 ... tried out the beta for a while ... and returned to using HM1

its funny and also disgusting how can they release it in this stage .. did install it , when i was trying to load my backup it crashed from some reason , since that i open it send or don't the feedback they want , coz ofc while they're trying to sell it , why wud they pay beta testers , if they can annoy ppl and they'll solve it for their own good, and then it shuts down automatically , no matter if i only click off the feedback page, so GJ HEM

Its very easy to explain:

PT4 is coming out and it looks awesome. They had to release it before that otherwise they would lose significant market share.

HEM 2 is so resource-heavy that I just cannot play it on my old comp... it lags so badly that I time out of tables... :f_frown: And that is no bug that can be fixed. Thats just bad programming.

I've been trying to import my HM1 database, but not all the latest hands are showing up... anyone have the same problem?

For instance, all the hands i've played this month aren't displayed. Right now i'm re-importing like 120k hands to see if it catches em...

The import speeds are way faster. big ups on that...

but at this point switching from one to the other is kind of a pain.

Yes. I had the same problem. Wasted whole day to solve this! The way I solved it is very ironic and goes well with this post:

I exported all my database from HM1, then imported it to PT3 (yes, you reading it right!), then exported it from PT3 and imported PT3 database into HM2!

It seems that HM2 understands PT3 database much better than that of HM1.

p.s. tbh I do not remember exactly if I imported PT3 database into HM2 by HM2' s inbuilt window or from outside directory, because after all this hustle I realised that HM2 slows down my comp to unplayable levels (its playable with noticeable lag until ~1000 hands, then it basically lags out) and returned to HM1.

BTW, they have now posted a news bulletin that they will be RELEASING NEW BUILDS EVERY 24-48 HOURS FOR NEXT 2 WEEKS! Thats just plain ridiculous! Thats not a finished product, thats barely a Beta stage. I was beta-testing World of Warcraft game, which is 1000x times more complicated software and it had way less bugs

latest problems:

last night I was importing the rest of the hands ( i tried doing so from the HM archive and that worked ok, though its possible some things are missing). While this import was going on it suddenly wanted to update all kinds of notes... like 600,000 of them. THEN it decided to update itself while this whole process was going on.

Ofcourse it promptly decided that crashing was in my best interest. On restart I was now unable to import hands, or update the software... I'm currently trying to update again (it prompts me ever time i open the program). On the last couple (five?) attempts HM2 decided once again that I'd really like for the program to crash repeatedly.

Giving it another go now, fingers crossed.

pausing for dramatic effect....

nothing is happening.. HM2 disapeared after NOOO!!!!! FU HM2

After the update was downloaded, HM2 disappears (presumably to close so install could proceed). THEN i get this stupid window popping up.

"Holdem Manager 2 is running. Please close it and try again."

well, excuse me but don't I have to open the damn program to recieve UPDATES!!!!!!!!!!! AHH RAGE.

(repeat this several times).

Anyone with this problem, check this thread. They give you a manual instal link. It worked exactly like HM1 updates.

Importer is working again... but its far from smooth. once i selected the folder to import the application window went black and stayed that way for about a minute.

Now i'm importing hands at up to 392 h/s which is insanely fast, but even at this rate its going to take over an hour.

If you guys had HM1 i suggest you to import hands from exported HM1 database and not form HH. I did it and it worked perfectly.

The question remains:

Why the f*** they put the option of importing from HM1 if it does not work!????

To me it would be common sense to make smooth transition from HM1 one of their top priorities... but I guess common sense is not that common after all...

i'm still trying to figure out how to import all my rakeback & bonuses.

honestly, idk how i'll get sessions in today. seems like i'll be spending 90% of the day getting this working.
