but seriously fuck them

Its not original at all. Its been done before, punks just copied others to try and cheat for the win... and I thought pokerstars implemented a rule against players doing that in HU back @ the 60billionth milestone..?

This is great for Pokerstars as well.

Having not payed a cent of rake makes the payout much cheaper for them.

As long as the promo is still generating more rake than normal I can't see them having a problem with it

That would only apply to milestones up to 70B hand where you earn money based on VPPs raked. In the 70B hand the winner takes at least $70K no matter what (or at least that's how I understood it).

Obvious collusion, anyone who had played any amount of poker knows that you rarely see two hands folded in a row at HU tables let alone 20+.

Should they be banned - No.

Should they lose the money - No.

Why?

Because the pokerstars software allowed them to do this and they were not colluding to make cash from other players only the poker room itself, which has not provided a failsafe against such activites, and tehrefore cannot (imo) enforce any kind of ruling here.

This pair just happened to win the milestone $70k hand - But I expect there was 100's more doing exactly the same, and if this is the case then should all those 100's of people be banned too?

Ye because that 100s of other does the same thing makes it right... wow some peoel are stupid.

They were not colluding to make cash of other players no but they colluded to have an advantages in this promotion, which is not fair to peoepl NOT colluding sitting on 24 6max/FR tables and actually raking in money which this whole shit is about.

Tell me how can 2 peoepl deciding upfront how to play the hands at a table not be collusion

The same option was available to EVERY PLAYER.

And when you call people stupid, make sure you know how to spell...

"The winners have been credited their funds. We'll look into altering details of the promotion for the 80 billionth hand to disincentivize such behavior in the future."

And later this

"We understand your concern and are aware that the winner of our 70 billionth milestone hand appears to have worked with another player and continuously folded
in an attempt to gain an advantage.

We have reviewed the circumstances around the winning hand and have determined
that while this practice of "fast-folding" may not be in the spirit of the promotion it does
not violate the rules and the regulations of this promtion. As such we have honoured
our promtional award.

Please note we are reviewing the format of this promotion to try to minimize this activity in future milestone hand promotions. We will
provide more information about this in the near future."

All payouts are linked (multiplied with) to how much rake have you generated in last 50 hands. Guys in this video generate no rake, so their payout will be multiplied by zero. Guess how much that is.

What worries me more is possible cheating from the side of PokerStars:

Only cash hands participiate in this, right? But tournament hands have numbers too, right?

If we put aside the fact that it is just not fair against tournament players there is one more thing:

If tournament hands have numbers too then HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MILESTONE HANDS APPEAR ONLY IN CASH GAMES?

To me thats a clear indication that PokerStars have control over where those hands are dealt. And thats no good...

Exactly what MrMardy (and I) were saying, I think.

what was meant is that tournament hands and cash game hands seem to be running on the same counter. how come no milestone happen to fall on a tournament hand?

I am pretty sure there is an explaination. I am just stating what was meant by SilverSag but would be interested to understand why anyway.

These guys outsmarted the system and there is nothing you can do about it. After all, in life you don't succeed with hard work only, but also by using your brains.

Yes Thazar, thats is exactly what I meant. And from your screenshots its clear that numbering is the same.

To me its pretty clear that they can have (and probably did have) control over those hands. Scary thing is:

if they have control over that then they definitely can have control to put that hand on EXACT TABLE.

And its not excatly the same as Mr.Putin announcing that 7 billionth human on Earth has born in Russia... :) babies are not numbered :)

p.s. there were 300 milestone hands btw... starting from 69 700 000 000. Just that payouts on those were much smaller, but still no tourney hands.

They didnt really outsmart anything. They just increased their chances of winning ... The chance of them hitting that hand was still miserably small. Unless PokerStars WANTED them to win.

Just one thing: Having ~4x chances more of hitting than anyone else is absolutely not miserably small.

Totally agree with you. Its exactly like buying 4 lottery tickets instead of just one. You increase your chances of winning 400% from 0.0000001 to 0.0000004.

Not only that they increased their chances of winning slightly, but they also did it for free. These 2 things combined makes this a big hit . They just took a freeroll to winning a big sum of money: ) The guy on the video who calls them names such as "scumbags etc" has to grow up and show some class. To me, he has put too much effort on winning something that includes no skills, but luck only. So did the so called "scumbags" if you look it from that perspective. In the long run, you have to learn to count on yourself rather than counting on hitting the jackpot or whatever. I totally agree it's not really fair, but you can't really consider it cheating either, since PokerStars didn't do anything to regulate or forbid it.
