ok there is a hand that I remember from 3 days ago that I wished to put here.

I don't have any of these programs of review of hands so I apologize in advance for that because it might be a bit hard to read.

I had KJ at the button middle/late stage of a tournament 33$ buy in. Vilain is another big stack of the tournament and so I was. After that hand I really thought I played it like a real dumbass but I'm still not one hundred porcent sure of exactly where I was bad.
all the valors there are aproximative. I just give a general topo of what happend in my mind :

Villain raise 2.5 bb from middle position (blinds I'd say were 500 ?) stack 32 k
So K :diamond:J :diamond: button Stack 35 000 I call

Exeryone else fold.

Flop : 8 :diamond: 6 :diamond: t :club:

Vilain bet 3700

I 3-bet him 8000 (Well I wanted to induce a shove but it was also waaaay to light for a 3bet but I didn't really mind a call at that point). That is my big mistake i think.
He calls

turn : blank
Bet 9000- or 14 000 I'm not sure it was something like less than half the pot on the turn.
I call

River blank he goes all in
I fold

That hand put me down to a bit less than average stack. And I really wish I'd have feedbacks on it because I KNOW i played it sooo badly.
Again I apologize for the unreadibility of my post :/

It's pretty hard for you to have any of his draws dominated, so I like calling the flop here and shipping over his turn bet if you think he bet/folds some on the turn.

With a hand like AQ :diamond: :diamond: I like raise/calling the flop a lot more, as you crush hands like offsuit J9s, and lower unpaired flushdraws/flushdraw + straightdraw combinations.

If he led 14k on the turn I think folding is just best. You have to call 14 to win maybe 19k so the pot odds you're getting are pretty bad, and I don't think he ever bet/folds for this sizing. Quite low implied odds as well IMO as you have the flopped flushdraw, so it's often tough for him to call you on the river if you make your hand. If he led 9k on the turn I think calling is fine, but possibly going all-in is better as such a weak bet can be interpreted as a block bet, so we can shove and still have pretty good equity when called.

This though personally I don't raise flop without a set. Like the call, shove turn line if he is reg.

i've been playing my nutted flushdraws a lot faster these days. how often have you personally thought (with non-nut flush draws) "man i have 2 overcards and a flushdraw, or man i have a gutty and a flushdraw... he either has top pair or a set, i'm ahead against top pair and doing OK against a set too... all-in!!"

cause yeah, you're crushed against the NFD

if stacks were a little shallower and we could induce a bit more spaz stuff i'm more for raising but i mean havent played around with stove but aren't we probably getting it in on near a flip - we also get quite hard decisions wen he just flats like he did in this hand - which he'll probbably do a lot because we are deep

There are a LOT of worse draws. Vs a flat we can take freecards or ship based on scariness of turn card. FWIW I'm talking about NFD

Yea i know, but meh without knowing villians tendencies we can sit here arguing all day about which line is better.

Yeah you're going to be facing unknowns in MTTs a lot though and I meant this as a default line to take against people, very few people don't go crazy with Q :diamond:J :diamond: here (and correctly so) as well as hands like J :diamond:9 :diamond:, J :club:9 :club:, Q :club:J :club:, and other random J9 hands.
