The importance of rakeback for Low Volume/Micro Grinders

I understand what u want to say Jehryn but don't forget that players who are learning don't have big winrate (in the best case) and at nl2 their little profit is eaten by rake. you pay smth like 1 ct for every 10 ct-20ct in the pot (depends from room).

At no point do I say that rakeback is more important than being a winning player. I simply say its important.

I also don't understand your reluctance to build a bankroll as quickly as possible. Why would anyone want to prolong one experience when new ventures await?
I honestly don't understand this caution - I thought all PLO players had the pedal to the metal and were variance junkies.

The focus on moving up as fast as possible in itself is wrong imho. Regardless whether you play PLO10 or PLO50, the focus should always be to improve as a poker player.

Beating 10nl, 25nl and 50nl all require different strategies, skill set and you face very different challenges at each level.
Also, the game isn't static. Beating each of these levels is tougher than a year ago and will be tougher a year from now - due to the general improvements across all internet play.
I love playing against players who I know are better than me. I've had a few shots at 100nl, and learned a lot from the experience.

I think you make some interesting points, and debate is always healthy.

It also slows down the fall through the limits if you're a losing player.

When you are consistently winning then sure focus on RK deals to improve your $/100h, but becoming a winning player come before that.

But then rakeback slows down the losing when you're learning to be a winning player
