w34z3l what do you think about longterm coaching with distribution of profit per month?

I offer coaching for profit deals at my discretion to students who have taken coaching from me and shown good aptitude for the game.

Nice RangeCam-video!
Will there be more?

I just made a comment on the old vid, just in case u make a new one this 2 things could improve the value for the users:
- using pokerranger instead of Equilab - the color for the diffrent groups of ranges is so neatly arranged and clear which makes it much easier to see the ranges and think into them
- from the flop on, just use Frequencys and never range% from the preflop100%-Range... there is just no use for it if u know that on the turn u have a 12% callingrange and 3% raisingrange... just using the frequencys makes more sense imo

Thanks for the comments. There will likely be more. I guess the next one will possibly be somnius making a video of a rematch hand. I don't know for certain though.

- I will look into using poker-ranger next time. Only issue is that I haven't paid for the software and I also don't intend to at the moment. I have a flopzilla license though, maybe that would be better.

- I actually think that frequencies without the total range% could be a little bit misleading. I.e, we'd have to look back and work forward from preflop in order to see the relevance of certain continuing frequencies. So currently I actually have the opposite view that we should have both the frequencies and the total-range% to result in the max usefulness and meaning. I could be wrong of course and I appreciate your views, but this is how I see it at the moment.

Anyway, thanks for the comments, appreciated =)

Hi w34z3l!

Can I ask you which is your regular limit? I've seen that you played microstakes 2 years ago and it seems a bit strange to me. Sorry for the odd question, I don't want to be "offensive" in any way, Im just curious!

Regards,
Peter

Hey 0talent,

Thanks for your question.

Regular limits are 200nl and 500nl. Even now you will see me playing at the micro-stakes from time to time.
There is a possibility I am

a) coaching
b) making strategy content
c) keeping up to date with trends at lower limits (I do bankroll challenges and such from time to time)

So while I have worked with quite a few ssnl and even mid-stakes guys my main focus is coaching micro-stakes. I feel that understanding how the lower limit games play give me a coaching edge over the guys that play 500nl but haven't touched a micro-stakes table in years.

Hope it helps =)

Yes, thanks a lot! I thought you should be playing that kind of limit because of the quality of your videos! :) Cheers!

Hello w34z3l,

Have you got an experience in live cash games? Does experience in online cash translate into live games? Is it necessary to play FR online to be able to transfer to live games? I'm asking because I am going to play live cash in some point. I strongly believe I've got an exceptionally high abilities to read people in a live situation. But before I sit down at the live table I want to rise my poker skills online, as much as possible. Do you think your coaching would help with that?

Also, would you recommend playing on HUDless sites like Sky Poker or Unibet in my situation? Or you rather think HUD is important in improving skills in general?

Regards,
thewinner44

Hey thewinner44,

I don't personally play live, I'm just an online grinder. I've worked with a few guys who play live though and understand the basic differences between the formats. What you learn in my coaching should help with all formats of poker whether it's 6max, FR, live or online. FR experience is not necessary in order to play FR live. The main difference between live and online is that live is a lot softer, lots of guys limping preflop etc.

HUD is always useful, but it's not something you can utilise in an online environment. If your main goal is to play live poker then it's probably not a big issue if you decide to not use a HUD online.

Hi,

I have played in the past year or so around 400k hands at 25NL rush, and I have a winrate of 0.7bb/100. If I'm willing to take one coaching session (with you obviously :) ) and put 25 hours studying / playing poker per week, how long would it take me to be able to win 5bb or 6bb/100?

I know there are some factors that influence this (how fast I learn for ex), but as a rough estimate?

Thanks

Hey sorry about the lack of response. I did not get a notification for some reason.

Very difficult to answer your question because it varies so widely based on the individual. There are usually certain things that we can do that will give an instant boost to your winrate. So getting to something like 3-4bb might not take long at all. The improvements after that will become slower as we work on smaller areas of your game, so difficult to say how long it will take. But it's definitely possible within a couple of months if you work hard.

Hey w34z3l!
Are your coaching rates still the same as shown on the first page of this thread? If yes I'd like to get in contact with you. Is it possible that I add you on skype?

Hey sorry for slow response, I'm sure I usually get a notification when someone posts here.

First page of the thread is still up to date, so rates are as advertised.

Feel free to contact me on skype, my username is the same as my pokerstrategy.com alias =)
