Indeed, as our members have pointed out.

One of the key differences in Omaha and Texas Hold'em is that in Omaha you MUST use exactly 3 cards from the board and two of your holecards.

But from the looks of it can be profitable, you have to be ready for a lot more bad beats then in holdem i think

The other beginner I rule would advise is; 'Dont call an all in or a pot bet on the river without the nuts.'

Decided to have a mess around on 0.02/0.04 tonight just to get a feel for the game.Never played it before besides a few mess hands with friends.Obviously won't be playing it properly (that's if i decide to) unless i study it etc. for a while but few noob questions i would like to ask if ye don't mind.

The pots are usually contested between alot more people then NL and found myself waiting to the river until i could really figure out what to do.Is luck a bit more of a factor here than in NL due to the pots usually being contested by more people?

And you know the way they say in Holdem you should really only play 1/6 hands,is there a similar thinking to PLO?

It's harder to play preflop because really strong hands in HE like AA, KK are impossible to play postflop because your opponents will easily have strong flush and straight draws or have hit sets etc..

I think in the beginning its better to try and play cheap flops with a lot of hands and when you hit monsters you throw in the money and get called a lot of the time.
